First impressions: Heat Seduction edp, by Beyonce...

I'd become bored with the Beyonce/Coty Heat line of fragrances because they quickly began verging on the "meh" mass-production-at-low-cost generic side, but Heat Seduction has become something of a regular fixture in discount stores in my area [Home & Bargain, B&M and Wilko - about £12 to £16 for a 100ml bottle], so I've tested it around half a dozen times now.

Has my testing & the low prices been enough to rekindle my interest in the line?

Spring Into Action II: Oh So Sheer edp by Katy Perry..

After buying a bottle of the Killer Queen 2015 flanker perfume [Spring Reign, see previous review], I then decided to look for a bottle of the 2014 flanker Oh So Sheer, to see which one I prefer. I saw a 30ml bottle on a eBay auction for £5 and bidded up to the grand heights of £7 on it. No one else bidded, so now I have another springtime appropriate perfume to review for the blog.

Does Oh So Sheer improve on the original Killer Queen, or is it better best forgotten?

First impressions: Heat Kissed edp by Beyonce...

Heat, Heat Rush, and Heat Mrs Carter are okay [pleasant but generic] and whilst I do think that Heat Midnight and Heat Wild Orchid are better, I don't think they're anything truly amazing that you need to drop everything for and rush out right now to get hold of.  But I couldn't resist trying the latest addition to the Heat range when I spotted it in my local stores, to see if it is meh, good, or - dare I type it? - something that I wanted to own?

First impressions: Mad Potion edp by Katy Perry...

I've noticed that my local branches of Boots and Superdrug began stocking the new Katy Perry/ Coty perfume - Mad Potion a week ago, so I've been testing it on a almost daily basis since then.

When I first read about the scent notes used in Mad Potion I was less then enthused about it (vanilla, vanilla, vanilla, musk, musk, musk - I'm not exaggerating), but have Coty managed to put a bit of an unique stamp on it & will I now have to admit that I'm wrong?

Feeling the Rush? Heat Rush EDT by Beyonce...

"Beyonce Heat Rush shines, sparkles and excites the moment it touches the skin. Surrounded by a luminous fragrant aura, the woman who wears it feels instantly effervescent and alive. Sensual and bright, the scent lights up a room just as Beyonce captivates with her presence"
The sun is finally out (sometimes) so let's follow on my last post's theme by having a look at a older summery Heat fragrance from Coty/Beyonce...

New fragrance: Heat Kissed edp by Beyonce..

"When a moment of attraction becomes undeniable, it ignites a spark between two people that draws them closer. Their lips meet and the flicker becomes a flame. Beyoncé Heat Kissed captures this sensual intensity in a bottle."
This month sees the launch of Heat Kissed, the new fragrance from the Heat collection of fragrances by Coty and Beyonce. The lush composition begins with exotic fruity notes of litchi, mango and pitahaya. Its rich heart includes Red Fury orchid, Sambac jasmine and Moroccan rose oil. Exotic woody notes of African sandalwood and patchouli are combined with vanilla infusion to create a warm and inviting base.

The new sexy/fresh/clean: Eau De Glow edt by Jennifer Lopez...

Today we're looking at the second of the newer Glow fragrances I bought a little while ago; this one is the flanker that I was really keen to try since ever since I first heard about it's launch. Eau De Glow was released back in spring 2012, but it only became available on UK sites for Brits to be able to buy within the past year. I've not seen it in any physical UK stores, so buying it online is our only option.

Eau De Glow is a updated version of the original Glow Perfume from 2002 - the debut fragrance by singer/actress Jennifer Lopez. It is described by Coty as being "dedicated to and inspired by spring flowers, which spread an aura of delicate freshness, refinement and sophistication".

I'm a bit bored of Jennifer's Glow offerings now, so how well will this edition of Glow fare? Will it manage to live up to my three years worth of expectations?

Party on with Rio Glow edt by Jennifer Lopez...

Since I tried Wild Glow, and rediscovered Miami Glow in the new year, I had a closer look at the other releases in Jennifer Lopez's Glow collection. Therefore today is my first of two reviews for two of her newer Glow flankers.

Rio Glow was first released in summer 2013 in 100ml bottles exclusively in Brazil, but has now spread to American stores - and UK shopping sites.
Coty describes Rio Glow as a "bright fruity/floral that projects the passion, enjoyment and positivity that symbolize Brazil".

Welcome to Miami (Glow)... EDT by Jennifer Lopez.

Miami Glow was released in 2004 and I thought that it was a limited edition, but it is still easy to buy online from sites like Amazon cheaply today (my latest 30ml bottle I bought last week was only £10.99 there), plus every now and then a batch shows up in my local Boots, Superdrug, and Home & Bargain stores too.

I don't know if this means that it proved so popular that Coty decided to make it a permanent edition to Jennifer Lopez's perfume line, or it was so unpopular that everywhere still has tons of backed up stock to get rid off. Either way I thought I would share my thoughts on this sunny version of the original Glow...

First impressions: Eau De Gaga by Lady Gaga...

After being left disappointed by the non-existent leather accord in Royal RevolutionI expected another wishy washy "meh" release here too as Coty is behind the Lady Gaga fragrances, as well as the newer Katy Perry ones. Was I right not to expect much, or was I pleasantly surprised?
EAU DE GAGA is described by Coty as being "an enigmatic scent, fusing daringly diverse elements to create a beguiling allure. The fragrance is built around a beautiful heart of white violet, an intoxicating flower that fuses male and female attractions. To counterbalance this opulent woody-floral intensity, the scent opens with an invigorating burst of sparkling lime that exudes dynamic vibrancy. And it evolves into a sensual trail based on leather, adding a primal quality to the scent".

First impressions: Heat Wild Orchid edp by Beyoncé...

As promised, today I've typed up my thoughts on the new Beyoncé Heat flanker; Heat Wild Orchid. I think that the original Heat, and first flanker Heat Rush, is meh; nice enough, but nothing interesting enough to stand out from the 1000s of fragrances released every year. Midnight Heat impressed me more, but is a heavier fragrance, and with my migraines, I've been finding it harder to wear recently.

However as I've found the new pillar perfume - Rise - from Beyoncé to be very enjoyable, I'm feeling lucky when it comes to Heat Wild Orchid too.

But have I gotten my hopes up for nothing?

First impressions: Rise edp by Beyoncé...

This year BeyoncĂ© has released two new perfumes (at the speed she's going I wouldn't be surprised if there was a Christmas scent in the works); a new pillar one, and a new Heat flanker. Both perfumes were exclusively sold in a certain store [The Perfume Shop] upon their initial releases, but as they are both now sold everywhere I've been paying closer attention to them.

I've been testing both perfumes for a little while now and have to say that I think that both are better then all of the past releases in the Beyoncé line of fragrances, but has one of them, or even both of them, been enjoyable enough to persuade me to open my wallet?

Today we'll be exploring my verdict on the new pillar scent, Rise, whilst tomorrow it'll be Heat Wild Orchid's turn in the spotlight...

After the fame: Eau De Gaga EDP by Lady Gaga...‏

“inspired by the adventurous woman and the man who loves her" - Lady Gaga

EAU DE GAGA is an enigmatic scent, fusing daringly diverse elements to create a beguiling allure. The fragrance is built around a beautiful heart of white violet, an intoxicating flower that fuses male and female attractions. To counterbalance this opulent woody-floral intensity, the scent opens with an invigorating burst of sparkling lime that exudes dynamic vibrancy. And it evolves into a sensual trail based on leather, adding a primal quality to the scent.

The singer described Eau de Gaga on Twitter as a clean fragrance composed of the three things she uses every day: sparkling water, lime and leather.

New fragrance: Rise EDP by Beyonce...

Beyonce launches her new perfume Rise in February of 2014. The concept that lies behind the creation of this fragrance was inspired by Beyonce’s on-stage persona, as well as by “female empowerment and finding the inner strength that makes women so beautiful".

The fragrance is more intimate and more natural than the previous ones, inspired by the works of singer's favourite poet Maya Angelou.

The composition is announced as an intoxicating, addictive and luminous floral.  The opening notes of the fragrance include apricot, Italian bergamot and iced basil sorbet. The main note of the perfume is Golden Symphony orchid, mixed with freesia and Sambac jasmine flowers. The base of the composition includes autumn woods, cashmere, musk and vetiver.

The fragrance is available as 15, 30 and 50 ml Eau de Parfum with an accompanying collection for body care.

My opinion of Pulse NYC perfume by Beyonce and Coty...

I quite like the original Pulse, so I was keen to try this. After what seemed like forever a store near me finally received stock, so was the wait worth it?

Nope. All I get from PULSE NYC is a mild and watery mix of raspberries and pear, followed quickly by a unidentifiable powdered floral notes. This soggy fruit salad is rounded of with a hint of buttery vanilla.

Scent notes; raspberries, pears, pomegranate, jasmine, peony, orchids, red velvet cupcakes and patchouli.

The staying power is non-existent, which is why I've been unable to write a detailed review. Within half an hour of application I couldn't smell a thing - no, I'm not exaggerating. A real shame - I'd been looking forward to trying it since it was announced last year.

Whilst I'm not keen on the earlier Heat editions I don't find them unlikable, plus Pulse was nice and Midnight Heat was a very pleasant surprise, so this sudden nosedive in the quality came as a shock. PULSE NYC is something I'd expect Kylie Minogue/Coty to come out with.

Pulse NY is sold in a 50ml bottle and is exclusive to The Fragrance Shop.
The RRP is £30, but I believe that it is currently being sold for around £15.

Heat: The nighttime edition... Review of Midnight Heat EDP by Beyonce

"For Beyoncé, fragrance is an essential accessory to highlight your inner radiance, confidence and sex appeal. Midnight Heat is the ultimate evening scent, sensual and enticing with just a hint of mystery." - Official Beyonce Website [beyonceparfums.com]
