Shake your tail-feathers at the Tropical Carnival, with Revolution x Tammi...

Revolution and British mua turned YouTuber Tammi Clarke recently dropped their second collaboration product, the Tropical Carnival shadow palette [note it doesn't say eyeshadow palette], which is the product we'll be getting more in-depth with today...

The Tropical Carnival palette is a great companion piece to Tammi's & Revolution's first one [Tropical Paradise]; a fun and poppy variety of shimmers and mattes, that will jazz up your look as we head into sunnier months, and compliment the not-so-vivid shades in Tammi's first palette.

But just how well will this palette work alone?

Have I found slice of paradise with the Tropical Paradise eyeshadow palette, by Revolution x Tammi?

Revolution and British YouTuber Tammi Clarke have recently released their second eyeshadow palette together, but today I want to rush in my review focus on the first palette that Tammi released in Revolution's popular collaboration line last year because I thought that I'd already done one, before we take a look at the newer offering.

I bought Tropical Paradise last year, around the time I first started to collect Revolution's collaboration palettes in the early summer, so have had plenty of time to get to know every single shade the palette offers [luckily I still have the photos of when my palette was shiny & new] and now it's verdict time...

Looking for that Spring-time glow: trying the Alchemist mini highlighter in Aquamarine, by Kat Von D Beauty...

New season, so I think it's time for a fresh, new glow.

Kat Von D Beauty has begun to offer smaller, more travel friendly versions for some of their products, including today's spotlighted highlighter [the pan is about the size of a 50p coin]. I already know that I really enjoy the brand's highlighting products, so picking this up was a easy-win in my mind...

Was it a safe-bet, or do I need to rethink things?

EOTD: The Born To Run palette, by Urban Decay...

I was looking through my original demos for today's palette and realized that none of the ones I selected for my palette review featured one of the brand's OG shades - Smog. If you're a fan of Urban Decay, you'll recognize the suits-all shade Smog; it is a permanent single (when I was younger, I had loads of those silver dollar singles - for a few years, they were the only eyeshadows I wore) and it has featured in over half a dozen palettes over the years (including the iconic Naked palette), so it is undoubtedly my most-worn shade from Urban Decay.

Anyway: today I'm going to share a recent, more 'everyday' simpler look where I used Smog, as I just felt like giving a old favourite a chance to shine...

She's as cold as ice: reviewing the Icy Betch eye & cheek palette by Tarte...

Image result for tarte icy betchThe Icy Betch began life as a joke 12-pan eyeshadow palette last April Fools day on Tarte's Instagram page [or was it actually a clever way to gather customer responses & marketing idea?], which disappointed thousands of people who actually wanted to own a palette in that colour scheme.

Fast forward to the lead-up for this year's April Fools day and Tarte began dropping promos and swatch snaps, before unveiling the real Icy Betch - yeah, I hate the cringy name too - palette; the real one contains 9 pans of shadow at 0.9g each, and 1 cheek/eyes highlighter [5g].

As someone who'd been excited by what was a joke last year and have said that I would have bought it if it became real, I naturally jumped straight on it this year...

Have we reached Norvina?

Ohh, today we have another Anastasia Beverley Hills palette that hasn't received a lot of love from the bigger voices in review land. Seeing how I continue to love Subculture, which was ripped to shreds by the most influential 'beauty guru's' (I know it's 'influencer' now, but I hate that term), I instantly became interested in the Norvina eyeshadow palette and wanted to see if this would also be a hit for me.

Fast forward from the launch last year, to now; I recieved the Norvina palette for Christmas and have spent the last few months getting to know each and every shade, and have now worn every one at least twice...

EOTD: The Emily Edit: The Wants eyeshadow palette, by Revolution...

When it comes to makeup application I'm someone who can't leave well enough alone and will end up with four, five or six eyeshadow shades layered together, even though I'd intended to keep my look 'light, effortless and clean', so when I came across EmilyNoel83's video about a week's worth of one-shadow looks, I smirked and dismissed it a it was about something that was "never going to happen"...

Then I rolled my eyes and told myself that all it needed was for me to apply less eyeshadow, not for for me to be able to read Latin & apply my makeup with my feet, so of course I could do it - at the very least I could try it once.

So do it once was what I have just gone and tried...
