A closer look at... the Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Duo [Mimosa Sunrise/Sangria Sunset]

Fenty Beauty have just dropped three new duo-highlighter compacts as part of their limited-edition summer line, which they describe as "weightless, long-wear cream-powder hybrid highlighter duos with a hyper-metallic finish", which double up as eyeshadows [this is the duo that Rihanna has on her eyes in the promo poster].

Fenty's official description also informs us that "Killawatt Foil keeps skin lit beyond sundown with its weightless longwear formula - a cream-powder hybrid that instantly melts into skin and blends with almost zero effort. Another win: it's loaded with extra fine, ultra-smooth shimmer to make all your hyper-metallic gleams come true".

As I said in my last review, I've tried a few Fenty Beauty items before and didn't care much for them - in fact I actively disliked some of them [including of of the duo compacts in this very collection]. However I just love the shades used in this compact, so I'm crossing my fingers and sending positive vibes towards it; I really, really, really want this experience to be positive...

Will this be the product that improve my "meh"opinion of the brand?

Feeling enchanted with The Magical One, by Pretty Little Palettes...

Today I'm going to be sharing my thoughts and a few demos from the third [and so far final] eyeshadow palette from indie brand Pretty Little Palettes (here are my reviews for The Sassy One & The Vampy One).

Have I been saving the best for last? Or has it taken this long for me to be able to work with the shadows and produce something worth sharing? Am I just trying to build suspense for a middle-of-the-road product?

A closer look at... the new-and-limited Killawatt Foil Freestyle Highlighter Duo [Sand Castle/Mint'd Mojito] by Fenty Beauty...

Fenty Beauty have just dropped three new duo-highlighter compacts as part of their limited-edition summer line, which they describe as "weightless, long-wear cream-powder hybrid highlighter duos with a hyper-metallic finish" ones, which double up as eyeshadows.

I've never been interested in Fenty Beauty as a whole; I bought their Christmas 2017 eyeshadow palette and didn't like it [I didn't get to write about it here - it sold out in the UK, before I'd used it enough times for a informed review], and I've only bothered using the stick highlight and Killawatt highlight that I recieved as Christmas presents a few times, so haven't bothered to review them either - they're neither good or bad, so they just bored me too much to be able to form a decent opinion on them. Their foundation, primer and cream sticks aren't suitable for drier skin types and their regular highlighters are a basic shade range, so I've not paid too much attention to what they've been up to.

Could that be about to change? Their new 'Beach Please' summer range is much more interesting shade range-wise, so I've decided to forget my previous experiences and give the brand a fresh try...

Are they dupes? PS... Love Noir, versus Lancome La vie est belle.

I tried Love Noir from PS... [Primark's own brand] as I really enjoy Lancome's La vie est belle, but the speed with which I went through two bottles meant that it was time to look for a cheaper 'everyday' version, so that my third bottle can be used more sparingly.

The reviews on Fragrantica pointed me in the direction of Love Noir as being a dupe for La Vie est Belle, so lets find out if it's as good as they said it is...

A closer look at... the Kiss Of Fire highlight & Eyeshadow Palette [by Revolution Beauty]...

I decided to take advantage of the recent "free postage with every order" promotion Revolution Beauty had on their site to pick up the new eye/cheek palette that I'd just seen on Instagram.

The Kiss Of Fire palette is a collaboration with YouTube-based MUA Carmi MUA. I'd never heard of Carmi before finding this palette, so the attached name will have zero bearing over my thoughts on the product.

Isn't she a peach? Reviewing the Royal Peach eyeshadow palette by Kylie Cosmetics...

I recently discovered that the permanent eyeshadow palettes from Kylie Cosmetics are a higher quality compared to the limited edition ones, so when they had one of their "40% off selected items" flash sales at the start of the year I decided to pick up one to try - and this time I decided to go for the first palette from the brand that I had been interested in, but never got because of the numerous bad reviews regarding the bad aroma it had

Yep. I going for the Royal Peach eyeshadow palette today, so lets take a deep breath and jump into the details, swatches and demos...
