2 palettes, 1 look: The Shade + Light Glimmer and Lolita eyeshadow palettes, by Kat Von D Beauty...

In my reviews for both of these eyeshadow palettes I mention that even though I can and do use them alone for complete looks, on a regular everyday basis I use them as companion palettes as I like to mix different formulas for looks; Shade + Light Glimmer doesn't contain any mattes, whilst Lolita is an all-matte palette.

What better way to highlight these still-available-to-buy-at-time-of-writing limited edition palettes, than to show how well they work together?

Is there some Dark Magic in Morphe's Vault?

Today I'm going to conclude my reviews on the ill-fated Morphe/Jaclyn Hill collection of eyeshadow palettes known as The Vault, by focusing on the last of the four for me to cover - the Dark Magic palette.

This is the one that I was most hesitant to try; deep shadows are harder to blend and are generally messy at the best of times, so I usually wear lighter shades as I'm not patient and precise. So how have I fared with widely-reviewed as badly performing shadows from such an inconsistent collection?

First impressions: Heat Seduction edp, by Beyonce...

I'd become bored with the Beyonce/Coty Heat line of fragrances because they quickly began verging on the "meh" mass-production-at-low-cost generic side, but Heat Seduction has become something of a regular fixture in discount stores in my area [Home & Bargain, B&M and Wilko - about £12 to £16 for a 100ml bottle], so I've tested it around half a dozen times now.

Has my testing & the low prices been enough to rekindle my interest in the line?

New year, new eyeshadow: Lolita eyeshadow palette, by Kat Von D Beauty...

The popular shade 'Lolita' is described as being a 'chestnut rose' [neutral rosy mid-brown] that already comes as a best-selling matte liquid lipstick, a cream lipstick and a eyeshadow/blush single and now we are getting a limited edition eyeshadow palette, which contains the original Lolita eyeshadow shade and seven new coordinating rosy-but-neutral shades.

The 8-pan all matte Lolita palette [plus a Glimmer Veil liquid lipstick & a liquid eyeliner in new Lolita shades] was a sneak release a week before Christmas, so I've a had a few weeks to test out everything.

Is this another must-have from Kat Von D, or has their run on unique-but-still-wearable themed eyeshadow palettes finally ended for me?
