Don't let the sun go down on... Sunset Fantasy EDT [by Britney Spears]

It's that time of the year; the sun's finally out of hiding, the temperature is rising, brighter colours are flooding clothes shops... so I'm on the hunt for a new fruity/floral fragrance to be my soundtrack for the new season.

I want to focus in on fragrances that are below the £30 mark, as who wants to spend more on a seasonal 'everyday' fragrance when the clothes shops have exciting new options in and it's festival/holiday  season?

Heading straight towards new releases on the seasonal shelf (what I call the stand next to a till in my head) in my local Boots brings me to the new Britney Spears/Elizabeth Arden release for this year, so lets take a closer look...

Discovering the cat's meow? [Review for The Cat's Pajamas eyeshadow palette by Laura Lee Los Angeles]

The Cat's Pajamas [Southern saying meaning that something is awesome - same as bee's knees] eyeshadow palette is something that I was interested in because of all the drama around it and the brand founder (a YouTube 'influencer') herself; I wanted the opportunity to decide for myself what I thought, so when UK stockist Beauty Bay emailed people a 24-hour-only 50% off code for this palette a little while ago, I jumped on it.

I think I've had the palette for close to two months now - in any case, it's definitely been over a month - so I now feel as though I've been wearing the shadows enough to have been able to provide valid thoughts and opinions on it. So with that being said, read on for my verdict...

Feeling on top of it with The Sassy One, by Pretty Little Palettes...

Today I'm going to be sharing my thoughts and a few demos from another eyeshadow palette from indie brand Pretty Little Palettes, and this time I'm going into... neutral territory [gasp].

I haven't bought a neutral palette for... I'm not sure - the Urban Decay Gwen Stefani palette [I gave it away as I didn't use it very often] was the last one, I think, as I need more pops of colour in palettes, for them to be able to hold my interest. With that in mind, lets see whatc [if anything] The Sassy One can do for me...

Catch the Wave edp [by Hollister]...

Are you looking for an aquatic fragrance for the spring and summer seasons? Don't look at the fragrance with an aquatic name and box with an image of the pacific ocean on - the inspiration for the Wave perfume is actually the Californian sunset, which makes me question why the sky on the box seems to be of a sunrise, with calm pastel shades...

I admit that I only bought Wave as when you got the £22 30ml bottle in The Perfume Shop, you also got a £17 baseball cap free; since I get migraines and several headaches per week, I'm fond of covering my head & shielding my eyes in warmer weather to ward off the sun, and I quite fancied a new cap for the new year...

Shall we see how well this impulsive blind buy has gone?

Speedy review: Indi edp by Katy Perry...

When I read that the latest Coty/Katy Perry fragrance contains five different tones of musk accords I was instantly turned off, as musk is a scent note that I'm sensitive to and can find it to be rather sickly if too heavy. However I later read that Indi also contains white tea and cedar, so I became intrigued enough by it to pick up a reduced Christmas gift-set online last month, as no stores near me carry it.

Were my first dismissals right and I wasted my money? Was I wrong at first and now have a new fragrance to enjoy? Time to find out...
