Getting Lippie; Coffee Shimmer Lasting Finish lipstick, by Rimmel

Coffee Shimmer Lasting Finish lipstick is the first makeup item I have clear memories of picking out & buying for myself, way back in the early 1990s, and I still continue to buy and wear it today.

I'm honestly quite surprised that I've never shouted this lipstick out before, or have included this in one of my spotlighted looks in this blog, back when I focused more on makeup.

Beyond time for me to fix that...

Getting lippie: reviewing Le Monster Matte Lip Crayon in Fire Me, by Haus Laboratories.

"This full-coverage, creamy formula strikes in one swipe with unexpected comfort and lightweight matte payoff, wrapping lips in smoother, fuller-looking color you can sink your teeth into" - Haus Lab

MATTE COMES ALIVE

Each MONSTER goes on smooth, then dries down morphing from creamy application to a budge-proof matte finish.

COLOR, CRUSHED

The lip-boosting complex and crushed pigments combine to attack lips in one swipe with fuller, smoother-looking payoff that keeps its grip.

COVERAGE THAT KILLS

Get matte and stay even with water-resistant, streak-free, budge-proof coverage.

Last-minute Stocking stuffer: Haus Laboratories Le Riot lipgloss in Venus & RIP lipliner in Myth.

Today we're taking another look at products from Haus Laboratories; the new cosmetics brand by Lady Gaga.

For this post I'm focusing on the product combo to pick up this festive season, for either yourself or for those hunting for the perfect nude & glossy lip...

Getting lippie: Sweet Tooth by L'Oreal...

I'm back with my third nude liquid lipstick from L'Oreal's Les Chocolats liquid lipsticks line and wasted no time in putting it to the test with all-day wear tests. Will it be third-time lucky, or have I pushed my luck too far?

Getting Lippie: Dose Of Cocoa by L'Oreal...

After instantly falling for the first shade of L'Oreal's Les Chocolats liquid lipstick I got, I had to get my hands on another one right away. Can we get another fantastic formula, or was the first time a one-off?

Getting lippy: Candy Man by L'Oreal...

A nice go-with-anything nude lip shade AND a cocoa fragrance?! Do I really need to say any more to explain why I was excited about getting my hands on this?

Thought not - now let's see if the quality lives up to my excitement when it got it's UK release...

Happy 10th Anniversary KvD Beauty, let's celebrate with a review for the 10th Anniversary lipstick...

The 10th Anniversary collection arrived to Debenhams a few weeks ago, so I jumped straight on the lipstick [as well as the previously reviewed eyeshadow palette] and started wearing it almost daily, gathering my thoughts for a review - it looked stunning paired with the emerald green eyeshadow 😀

As the UK only gets a small portion of KvD's limited edition items to put on sale, I'm not going to blather on and just jump straight into the interesting stuff...

Getting lippie; Lip Wow in Ready To Wear by Bagsy...

Bagsy is a small British brand that focus on producing items that are considered as being 'everyday' handbag essentials. They have a capsule collection of products in compact sizes, ranging from dry shampoo, a concealer pencil, to what I want to show you today (PS; this is not a sponsored post)...

The brand's Wow Lip's remind me of Tarte's Lip Surgences and Revlon's Kissable Balm Stain's, but these are better than both brands; unlike the Lip Surgence's these don't melt in the tube and the caps don't crack, making a mess in my bags. And Revlon isn't cruelty free, and I'm working on replacing my makeup by brands that are involved with animal cruelty with more ethical options.

Getting lippie: Studded Lipstick in Backstage Bambi by Kat Von D...

As I'm sure everyone who is into makeup already knows at this point, you can now buy certain products (no polish or perfumes) on the Sephora website and have them shipped internationally.
I first got Backstage Bambi in a mini size as part of a set years ago on one of my trips to New York, and wore it to death. I bought a full sized one on my last NYC trip a few months ago, and as we can get the Kat Von D lip products delivered to us,  I thought that now I could share a review for it.

Getting lippie: Super Lustrous lipstick in Really Red by Revlon...

Today I thought I'd take a break from both my ever-growing nail polish collection and my fascination with perfumes, to continue my foray into the world of bold lipsticks.
This post will peek into the latest purchase in my ongoing search for the perfect red - which today also continues my exploration in Revlon cosmetics...

Hollywood Collection Ultra Colour Lipstick by Avon in Hollywood Siren

Avon cosmetics have released three new Ultra Colour lipstick shades for Christmas, and they have currently knocked £3.50 of the price I decided to give the burgundy one, a shade that I rarely wear, a try.

However, in classic Avon style, the shade that they show as being burgundy online and in their catalogue [and in the swatch on the back of my hand] applies more as a muted red on my lips.

Despite being mislead by the online swatches, what did I think about this lipstick after wearing it a bunch of times?

Fancy a bite? (Trying out Vampire lipstick by Beauty UK)...

Do you ever buy something because you like the shade name? Say hello to exhibit 100.000,001 for me...

I wanted a red lipstick to go with my black as-yet-unworn skull and rose adorned dress that I'm planning to wear to the Lady Gaga concert next week, and as I thought the name of my chosen shade is very fitting for Halloween month, I thought I'd share my thoughts on it here.

I regularly look for a low priced red lipstick, as I don't feel confident in red, but think that if I one day find a shade that flatters both my small mouth shape AND very thin upper lip, I'll rather like the classic look. anyway; I bought this one because I remember Samantha Chapman from Pixiwoo mentioning it in a video about her favourite red lipsticks a while ago, and I admire her makeup looks. And, as she has fair skin too, I thought there was a fair chance that Vampire might work for me.

Best of both worlds: L'oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick by Color Riche [exclusive to Boots]

When oil meets colour.. L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick by Color Riche.

Colour intensity of a lipstick
Magnifying shine of a gloss
Softness of a balm

I was never really a fan of L'Oreal products in the past - their mascaras were too wet, the hair dyes always looked different from the box, the lipglosses were too sticky, and he lipsticks always seemed to smell weird... But now I've tried several products of theirs [makeup, skincare, and haircare] this year and have loved them all, but  L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick is vying with Miss Manga mascara as my favourite thing by them that I've tried so far.

I have two shades and the quality of the formula is great on both of them; this is a liquid lipstick, so you get the strong colour and good staying power of a traditional moisturizing lipstick [3 to 4 hours], minus the drying feeling you can get from a lipstick. As a liquid you get added shine and a soft feel, minus the sticky and slippy feeling I've experienced with past L'Oreal glosses.

It's the best of both worlds. I will be checking out the other shades in the range as the two shades I have are both highly wearable, and have pulled of the product's three claims successfully.

Nude Ballet

A nude shade that doesn't look overly pink, brown, or peach, but must have some in the undertone because it's not that sickly beige, elastic-band shade I usually get on my lips. A lovely go-with-everything shade that now permanently lives in my handbag.

Fuchsia Drama

A cheerful bright pink shade, that is ideal for this time of the year. This is  little bit different to Nude Ballet as layering the product really changes the look; a light sweep of the wand gives a bright-not-not-too-loud sheer pink, whilst two swipes dials up the intensity and brings out the purple undertones...

Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Cherries in the Snow

As I've mentioned before I've never really been into strong lip colours in the past - the shape of my lips is small, and my top lip is practically invisible - but after spending most of my makeup wearing years focusing on my eyes, I became bored with my routine. I've been looking at brighter lip colours to shake up my look for the past year, and this is one of my first success stories...

Beauty Buys of the Year: Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain...

I can't believe that it took me so long to try these stains; Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain is now my favourite lip colour. They remind me of Tarte's Lip Surgences, but these are better as they wear for longer, don't melt in the tube and the caps don't crack, making a mess in my bags - not to mention that Tarte isn't officially sold in the UK.

I'm probably going to end up buying all of the colours Revlon makes - I think there are 12 shades all together, but UK stores don't sell them all right now, I only saw five shades in Boots and Superdrug.
