Third time's the charm? [reviewing Cosmic Intense edp, by Kylie Jenner]

creamier, warmer, and just as addictive - experience the bold evolution of our signature fragrance.
Cosmic kylie jenner intense is a bold, ambery gourmand evolution of the original cosmic. with heightened vanilla notes and decadent benzoin, it's creamier, warmer, and just as addictive. housed in a fiery red sculptural bottle to reflect its intensity, this fragrance leaves a lasting and unforgettable impression.

🚨 The third cosmic fragrance is here; it's also the third time that I was taken by surprise by the launch of a cosmic perfume - I've not been keeping up with new fragrance releases very well for a good few years now.

Anyway, back to the topic; I really enjoy the previous cosmic fragrances, so I had to track this new edition down ASAP...

here's hoping that it's even half as good as I'm expecting/hoping 🤞

Rise up; Kylash Volume mascara, by Kylie Cosmetics.

"get lifted, defined, and fuller lashes with my kylash volume mascara. featuring a clean and vegan formula that doesn’t compromise on performance, this mascara provides volume, length and holds curl" - Kylie jenner

Sephora recently arrived to the UK and one of the handful of stores is in reasonable distance to where I live, so I envisioned feasting on Tarte & Rare Beauty macaras, but nope - I'm on my second tube of Kylash and have just bought my third, to be ready for when my current one is finished/expired.

Allow  me to sum up why this has become my new favourite...

Cosmic; round two... [reviewing Cosmic 2.0 edp, by Kylie Jenner]

The floral amber scent is officially described as being a “soft, clean” fragrance, that was inspired by the first light breaking through the horizon...

Similar to the original Cosmic, Cosmic 2.0 is housed in a sculptural bottle, designed to look like a piece of art from another world. However this flanker comes in a reflective, mirrored finish, developed to represent self-reflection and personal growth.

I don't follow Kylie Cosmetics or Kylie herself on any social media platforms, so this release [like the original] was a surprise for me that I only heard about the day before the launch. I do really enjoy the original Cosmic much more than I expected that I would [I actually do genuinely plan to buy a refill container for my almost empty bottle in the near-future], so obviously I was immediately interested by the new release and I was ready to pounce on it immediately from the Kylie Cosmetics site.

However my lingering issues from multiple Covid exposures include my sense of smell randomly coming & going, and the initial release of Cosmic 2.0 coincided with a 'off' period for me, so I've instead waited for Cosmic 2.0 to recieve a wider launch. I've been avoiding all reviews for Cosmic 2.0 in the meantime, whilst I was waiting for my nose to play ball, and I was excited to head to Boots as soon as my sense of smell returned.

Can Cosmic 2.0 stand tall next to the original Cosmic? A bit of a tall order, considering how highly I hold Cosmic...

Is it from another galaxy? [reviewing Cosmic edp, by Kylie Cosmetics]

A magnetic, skin-inspired scent that smells out of this world.

cosmic kylie jenner is a sweet, warm floral, elevated scent that is perfect for day and night. an ambery floral eau de parfum, the scent is magnetic, addictive, and out of this world.

the sculptural bottle was designed to look like a piece of art from another world and is formed to fit perfectly in the palm of your hand.

Oops a daisy; I was just browsing social media to cheer myself up with cute animal videos and I stumbled across the announcement that the first perfume from Kylie Cosmetics was now available, so I went to the brand site just to read more information about the fragrance, but then I somehow ended up buying a bottle.

I'd not known that kylie cosmetics was going to be launching a perfume, but reading the description & key scent notes brings Fame to mind, which is a perfume I've been enjoying immensely. Plus i vaguely remember a kkw fragrance & kylie collection and the fragrance in it that interested me the most had similar key scent notes, so since I never got that one & my enjoyment of Fame, I couldn't resist trying cosmic...

The power of the plush? [reviewing the Power Plush foundation, by Kylie Cosmetics]

"my power plush longwear foundation is a hydrating, instantly smoothing foundation with medium, buildable coverage and up to 12 hours of comfortable wear. this weightless formula seamlessly blends into the skin to blur fine lines, pores, and texture.

it leaves a soft, cushiony feel with an airbrushed, satin finish that’s not too dewy, not too matte, but the perfect in between"

medium, buildable coverage - creamy texture blends seamlessly into the skin.

Natural, satin finish - feels weightless and skin breathable.

Up to 12 hours of comfortable wear - doesn't cake or crease, and is sweat, humidity and waterproof.

Hydrating and non-comedogenic - doesn’t clog pores, settle into fine lines or cling to dry patches.

Contains flex form properties - for highly comfortable, flexible wear.

I'd tried various things from Kylie Cosmetics back when it was owned by Seed Beauty, because everyone would always rave about how fantastic it was and I'd suffer from FOMO. However I was underwhelmed with almost everything I tried, and I didn't even bother reviewing some of it here, because I couldn't scrape enough words for a useful review.

Last year I was curious to see if the quality had improved since Coty now owns the brand, so I used some of my Boots points on the Bronze [eyeshadow] Palette from them - I really liked it and ended up buying the Classic Matte palette soon after. I then got a LE set of products while  Christmas shopping [Boots still stocks it], and I've been pleasantly surprised by how much I like those products too - especially the mascaraSince I've gained confidence in the brand, I recently decided to take the plunge and try their new foundation which I'd been noticing loads of rave reviews for...

... I have very dry skin, so if I bother with a base I wear Huda Beauty GloWish Skin Tint, or every now and then I'll go for a BB cream - it's been several years since I've actually bought a medium+ foundation base before this.

Wish me luck 🙏

EOTD: The Purple Palette, by Kylie Cosmetics...

When I felt like wearing an all-matte purple look, I took inspiration from my last post and went with shades from my other permanent Kylie Cosmetics palette I hadn't used for a little while...

I really enjoyed the purple matte shades in today's palette the other times I've worn them, it's just that with testing other products for review, this palette just got buried at the back of a drawer and neglected. So it's time to find out if the spark is still there...

EOTD: the Take Me On Vacation eyeshadow palette, by Kylie Cosmetics...

Today I'm going to reuse a eyeshadow palette that I haven't touched in a while, to see if a change in skincare and different brushes & eyeshadow primer makes a difference in performance.

I'd not touched the Take Me On vacation palette by Kylie Cosmetics for a while because I just don't like it; the pigmentation  on the shadows is poor, so most of the shades just end up fading and muddying together. For the second time now, I've removed it from my purge-pile at the last second because it was a pricey purchase [I forget about international postage prices and customs & handling charges every time I order from America] & process/delivery/customs collection is a pain in the arse. Since I couldn't quite bring myself to part with the palette, I'm making myself use it...

Have I managed to find a way to make the shadows work for me?

Is it going on the naughty list? The Naughty eyeshadow palette, by Kylie Cosmetics...

Last November I ordered the complete 'Holiday 2017 Bundle' on the Kylie Cosmetics site [and some highlight  books too, as they weren't included in the 'complete Holiday  bundle - grrrr], so that I could divide it into separate gifts for family and friends. Long story short; my order didn't arrive until January this year, so after giving the other items in the bundle to everyone with a ton of apologies, I tossed this leftover palette into a drawer in annoyance and forgot about it.
Then a few months ago I was doing one of my palette look-over's [checking if any have gone bad and looking for any shattered pans in them] and came across the neglected Naughty palette, so I put it on top of my dresser so that I'd remember to use it.

Is it a hidden gem that's worth you picking up as a xmas gift, or for you to get party-ready? Should I dump it back in it's drawer and forget about it again?

Isn't she a peach? Reviewing the Royal Peach eyeshadow palette by Kylie Cosmetics...

I recently discovered that the permanent eyeshadow palettes from Kylie Cosmetics are a higher quality compared to the limited edition ones, so when they had one of their "40% off selected items" flash sales at the start of the year I decided to pick up one to try - and this time I decided to go for the first palette from the brand that I had been interested in, but never got because of the numerous bad reviews regarding the bad aroma it had

Yep. I going for the Royal Peach eyeshadow palette today, so lets take a deep breath and jump into the details, swatches and demos...

The Purple [Palette] reign, with Kylie Cosmetics...

Kylie Cosmetics knocked 30% or 40% off the prices of their eyeshadow palettes at some point around Black Friday 2017 [sorry - my memory for October and November is really fuzzy], so I used the opportunity to pick up some extra xmas gifts for people - and I also got The Purple Palette for myself out of a morbid fascination with the brand curiosity, as I have a few fans of the brand in my life who all say I should try one of their core eyeshadow palettes as they are much better quality then the more-rushed limited edition releases that I have.

So here we are two months worth of applying-and-wearing-the-shadows-all-day testing later; it's time to share a couple of my favourite combos and determine if I think the product quality differs between this more permanent 9-pan palette, compared to the quality of the limited edition palettes I own from the brand.

Will this be the palette that turns my 'meh' opinion of the brand around, or have I wasted more money on another subpar palette from the Kylie Cosmetics brand?

Is it really worth taking this home again, or should we ditch it at the hotel? The Take Me On Vacation eyeshadow palette by Kylie Cosmetics...

Take Me On Vacation is a limited edition eyeshadow palette from the brand's summer 2017 collection, that is [as of February 2019] still in stock on the Kylie Cosmetics site, so I assume that it is now a permanent product. Or was extremely unpopular...
Since the quality of the last limited edition eyeshadow palette I've bought from Kylie Cosmetics was pretty decent, I decided to pick this up during a recent flash sale as the colour selection for I Want It All was a let-down and I felt the larger shade range here would complement my previous purchase. So feel free to read on and see if that was a good decision

I wanted the Kylie look, but did I get it? The I Want It All palette, by Kylie Cosmetics...

The I Want It All palette [also known as the Birthday Book] is a limited edition eye/cheek palette that is currently still in stock on the Kylie Cosmetics site, from Kylie's 2017  birthday collection. Since the brand's limited edition products come and go very quickly, I'm not going to hang around and blather on - instead lets  dive right into the swatches and my review before it sells out, as that's what you came here for...

Is it worth going [koko]nuts over? The Koko Kollection Face Palette by Kylie Cosmetics...

I'm late jumping onto a trendy brand, but here we are...
I actually have a few Kylie Cosmetics items now, but have never reviewed them as her collections that had items that appealed to me were extremely limited edition, so by the time things arrived to me [between two and three weeks] and I'd tried them enough times to review, they'd gone forever. Also; the products I have are all on the 'meh' side; not too bad so I felt as though I had to warn people about throwing their money away, but not anything good enough to make me excited about and eager to share.
I've now got something that is still available to buy, so the question has become "is this face palette going to buck the 'meh' trend for me?"
