Rise up; Kylash Volume mascara, by Kylie Cosmetics.

"get lifted, defined, and fuller lashes with my kylash volume mascara. featuring a clean and vegan formula that doesn’t compromise on performance, this mascara provides volume, length and holds curl" - Kylie jenner

Sephora recently arrived to the UK and one of the handful of stores is in reasonable distance to where I live, so I envisioned feasting on Tarte & Rare Beauty macaras, but nope - I'm on my second tube of Kylash and have just bought my third, to be ready for when my current one is finished/expired.

Allow  me to sum up why this has become my new favourite...

You can either Go Big Or Go Home with the new mascara from Kat Von D Beauty...

I've not bought mascara for almost two years; gifts with purchases, samples and beauty calendar contents have kept me going that long, and I still have some unopened tubes to go through.
However the siren's call of a new "currently the #1 bestseller in the UK and France" mascara made by one of my favourite eyeshadow brand's has lured me in. So lets find out if it is worth the hype...

Miss Baby Roll mascara by L'Oreal...

Ah - mascara. One of my top three makeup products [concealer and highlighter are my other two], so my head is pretty easily turned whenever I come across a new one...

And... Well, there's not else to add to this story. I saw a TV ad for Miss Baby Roll, so decided to look out for it in Boots, then picked it up when I saw it on offer. Money well spent, or was it thrown away? Only one way to find out...

No angels here: Miss Manga Black Angel...

I love the big, doll eyed look, and the original Miss Manga mascara delivers the results I want for the look. Miss Manga Punky has a richer colour and the formula is more voluminous in comparison, but I found that the shape it gave my lashes too full-on for my tastes.

But now there's a new Miss Manga mascara on the block...

Curl up and dye: Roller Lash mascara by Benefit...

Today I'm continuing my quest to find that magic can't-live-without-it holy grail mascara, and I'm going towards the higher price range.

I've tried a few different curling mascaras from brands in the low-mid price range and really enjoyed them, so I'm curious to see what (if any) benefits a pricier mascara gives...

Luxe Volume Extravagance mascara by Avon...

Black, lavish lashes with excess, high-impact volume. With fibres to create                                                              voluptuous lash volume.                                                Contains Black Diamond Powder. Flake-proof.
After years of being disappointed by Avon's mascaras I really enjoyed the last one I tried by them, so I naturally had to try one that boasted about using black diamond powder. What, if anything, does diamond powder do for lashes?

Lets find out...

Little Miss Anarchy? Miss Manga Punky mascara by L'Oreal...

I surprised myself by really enjoying L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara, so I was really excited to come across their new Miss Manga Punky edition when I went to rebuy the original one.

Am I a Punky girl, or will I remain a little Miss?

Perfect potion? Lash Potion Mascara by Revlon...

Revlon makes my favourite foundations (Photoready & Nearly Naked). In addition I also love their Photoready primer, their Nearly Naked pressed powder, their Gel Envy Diamond topcoat, and their crayon lipstick/balm/stains. So I felt that it was time for me to branch out in their brand a bit and see how some of their other products work for me...

First up is a product that I wear every time I apply makeup... A mascara. I got this one just because I liked the name and packaging design.

Were my first Impressions on the money, so to speak?

Be bold, be... Big & Daring [mascara by Avon]...

I've never been a lover of Avon mascaras in the past as I have found that they tend to have really wet formulas which makes them prone to clumping, so this mascara has been a real surprise for me as it isn't as wet as the others I've tried.

I love the big, doll eyed look, and this mascara gives my lashes the mega volume, great separation and rich colour to make the look easy to achieve.

Miss Thang: Miss Manga mascara by L'Oreal...

In the past I have thought that the L'Oreal mascaras I've tried all have really wet formulas which makes them prone to clumping, so their Miss Manga mascara has been a real surprise for me in the fact I can use the tube straight away, instead of having to leave it for a few weeks to dry for a little while...

Yeah THEY'RE REAL... They're Real mascara by Benefit.

I'll start with the good stuff; Benefit's THEY'RE REAL mascara ticks all of the mascara dreamlist boxes for me; Great separation, added length and amazing volume increase. I've not experienced flaking or smudging, plus it holds my curl all day and is easy to remove.

The brush is a regular size with short rubber bristles so it is easy to use and It grabs, coats and pushes every lash out and up. However what is unique is that the end of the wand also has bristles, to catch those little straggly hairs in the inner and outer corners of the eye.

I've had favourable comments from strangers when I've worn this mascara...

Naked lashes vs 1 coat

Bad points? I don't have anything negative to say about the formula, or the results. But whilst the shape of the brush is important to create the shape and definition, the shaped end can be a bit of a hindrance. One eye on me always looks great because of the shaped end, but I don't like flipping my wrist to do the other eye as I don't like the feeling of a lack of control, so my other eye rarely has the same level of definition.

As you can see on the below photo my main issue with this problem is that the inner corner of one eye always looks less defined, and the outer corner of the problem eye can be prone to a few minor clumps.

Of course, if you are comfortable flipping your wrists during mascara application you can just ignore the last few paragraphs :)

2 coats

The price [£19.50] is also a bit of a put off for me; so whilst I will consider buying this mascara again, I'll always be on the look-out for a cheaper alternative as They're Real is good, but the niggles over the brush and price mean it isn't a I-must-have-it-now product for me.

No need to draw the line: Liner Effect mascara by Bourjois...

Just one coat of this wonder mascara gives you volume, a strong colour & two coats gives you that full on, false eyelash look. Perfect for making a statement.

This mascara is ooooooohhhh: Lashgasm mascara by Toofaced...

TooFaced  Lashgasm mascara ticks all of the main boxes for me; great separation, added length and the most noticeable volume increase that I've ever noticed. Simply put - the results are unbeatable. LASHGASM gives me results of lengthened, beautifully separated, evenly coated, non-clumpy lashes, with a rich black colour. I was really impressed by it's thickening ability, each time I've used it.
