NOTD: Belle of the Ball, by Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure...

Today we'll be looking at something from Sally Hansen; my favourite pharmacy [drugstore] level price-point polish brand. I try to keep my NOTD posts focused on polishes that are easier to find, so I picked the shade Belle of the Ball for today, as it's easy to get AND is fitting for the festive season - a lovely option for a stocking stuffer...

NOTD?: Crown For Whatever, by China Glaze...

Spoiler alert; this polish is frustrating, and is why my reviews for the Happily Never After collection are late this year; all the way through the reviews, I keep pausing to try this one again.

I didn't want it to come to this, but I'm going to be completing my Halloween polish reviews with a whimper this year, as today's spotlight polish doesn't agree with me. I watched a few YouTube vloggers swatching this polish and it looked great on them, so I couldn't wait for the UK release of the collection to get my own bottle, but now I've concluded that you need to be a gifted manicurist to get it to work - so I'm out.

Lets find out what the nature of the problem with Crown For Whatever is...

NOTD: Life's Grimm, by China Glaze...

Last time I showed you my favourite polish from the Halloween 2017 Happily Never After collection by China Glaze, but now I want to show you what seems to be their favourite Halloween polish recipe - green microglitter, in a murky base.

Life's Grimm is the forth time that China Glaze have turned to this combination for one of their Halloween ranges, so I thought  it'd be good to get a comparison to the previous polishes in to today's review.

So is Life's Grimm a good polish, and is it a dupe to anything else?

NOTD: Sin-derella by China Glaze...

Welcome back to the second half of my breakdown of reviews for the new polishes from the Halloween 2017 Happily Never After collection by China Glaze.

Today I'm starting Halloween month by spotlighting my top pick from the collection, and if you watch any of the vloggers, read nail blogs or visit beauty chatrooms, then you'll probably guess what's coming, as today's pick seems to be everyone's favourite...

Yep; today is Sin-derella's time to shine for us all.

NOTD: Queen, Please! by China Glaze...

Sorry for the break in my China Glaze Halloween 2017 breakdown, but I wanted to get the Kylie Cosmetics one up before the featured product sold out. But I'm now back on track...

Okay; we've done a review for the glitter topper in the Happily Never After collection, but what if you don't like wearing glitter on your nails since it's a bit of a pain to remove? Don't worry; China Glaze has you covered, by including a shimmer topper in this year's line-up. Take a bow Queen, Please...

NOTD: Do You, Boo! by China Glaze...

Do You, Boo! is one of the six new shades in the 2017 Halloween collection 'Happily Never After', and it is the only glitter topper on offer this year (the other topper on offer in this collection is a shimmer one).

As we've started this year's breakdown of reviews for the China Glaze Halloween collection by focusing on the basic creme shade, I thought that I'd follow with reviews for the two toppers meant to be paired with it.
We'll be looking at the shimmer topper next, but for now Do You, Boo! is taking it's turn under the spotlight...

NOTD: Lookin' Gore-geous by China Glaze...

It's time to go through the six new polishes in the Halloween 2017 nail polish collection (Happily Never After) by China Glaze, and I'm going to start by focusing on Lookin' Gore-geous.
I admit that this shade does look pretty boring next to the other polishes in the Happily Never After collection, but there are two toppers in the line-up [a glitter one & a shimmer one] which we'll be looking at next and this shade is perfect under them both.

NOTD: Wear Something Spar-Kylie, by Nicole By OPI...

I think that Wear Something Spar-Kylie was in a 4-pack I picked up from the clearance shelf in TK Maxx a few year's ago, and I never bothered with it because I assumed that it was a glitter topper, like the other Kylie-named polish in Nicole's Kardashian Kollection range.
I didn't know  what to wear the other day, so just blindly reached in the picnic basket I keep most of my untried polishes in and this is what came out. I'm a secret girly girl, so was excited that I grabbed something pink and sparkley, and even better is the fact that this polish was revealed to be a texture polish when I tested it to see how dense the glitter was, as I love textures - especially OPI's liquid sands.
How similar will OPI's little sister be in formula?

NOTD: Space Glam by Essence...

Out Of Space Stories is Essence's current limited edition seven-piece nail polish collection, and is now in Wilco stores.

What makes this collection exciting is that it contains holographic, duochrome and foil finishes - for £2 each!!

Do you really need anymore incentive to go out and track down this collection, after hearing that?!

NOTD: Crown Of Thistles by A-England...

Today I sharing one of my successful explorations into the world of indie nail polishes; A-England [stands for Alchemy England] a UK cruelty and 3-free brand.
Today's spotlight shade is Crown Of Thistles, which is from the 2014 Elizabeth And Mary collection and is still available to buy on the site today - I think that the collections on the A England site are permanent ones [fingers crossed, as there are loads of shades I want to get].

Mmmm; look at that shade, and the holographic sparkles...

NOTD: Rain Dance The Night Away by China Glaze...

Today I want to look at a polish that was released in the 2015 late-summer-transitioning-into-autumn Desert Escape collection and is still easy to find online today.
I bought Rain Dance The Night Away as soon as the collection was released, but then my Grandfather died and his favourite song - Dance The Night Away by The Mavericks - was played at his funeral, and I found the similar name of this polish to be a sad reminder of that day, so I put the polish in a drawer and forgot all about it.

However; after almost two years I've come to like the reminder of his life via 'his' song, so it's time to dig out Rain Dance The Night Away and see if it's as good as it's name...

NOTD: Gluteus Equine over Absence, both by Pretty Serious...

Pretty Serious is a cruelty free and vegan indie Australian brand that ships world-wide, and is very reasonably priced. I've only been buying from Pretty Serious for a little over a year, but they have already become my favourite brand. I have around 60 polishes by them now, and I can honestly say that every single one I've worn so far has had a great streak-free formula.

I'm sorry that my posts have been slow and not as in depth of late, but  life has been pretty crappy lately, and I just haven't felt like faking excitement for none-vital things. Anyway; today I want to ease back into my usual routine and get back to blogging, by shining the spotlight on two of my most-worn polishes from the brand.

NOTD: Close Your Eyes by orly...

Close Your Eyes dates back to Orly's 2005 Truth Or Dare collection, and I think that it must have been added to their core colour collection at one point, because it is still easy to find on most retail sites [eg AmazoneBay and Nail Polish Direct] today, as both a regular polish and a gel one.
The party season is almost upon us, but before we bring out the full-on bling and glitters of the season, let's ease into the glitz and glamour by getting our pearly glow on...

NOTD: We Got The Beet by China Glaze...

Today I'm rounding off my reviews for my purchases from the China Glaze summer 2016 Lite Brites collection, by looking at the shade I saved for last because [I think] it is the most transitional one in the collection.

If you are also a bit bored by lighter spring/summer shades now, but am not quite ready for the full-on vampies of autumn/winter yet, We Got The Beet has got your back...

NOTD: Papa Don't Peach by China Glaze...

Today's NOTD polish fits the theme of the China Glaze summer 2016 Lite Brites collection really well, as this shade reminds me of my jelly shoes as a child in the late 80's. Plus; do 80's babies remember when inflatable backpacks were really popular in secondary school during the 90's? Papa Don't Peach reminds me slightly of those too...

NOTD: What I Like About Blue by China Glaze...

Blue is one of my favourite colours to wear on my nails, so it is no surprise. that I've gotten my mitts on What I Like About Blue from the China Glaze summer 2016 collection.

I know that the Lite Brites collection has another blue shade in it, but will the performance of this put me off picking it up?

NOTD: Lets Jam by China Glaze...

Today we're looking at the shade in the Lite Brites collection that is becoming the most popular with bloggers, vloggers and reviewers on various cosmetics sites and boards.

I admit that when I saw swatches, Lets Jam was the shade I was most keen to get too. Hyped up things usually end up being a let-down - at least in my experience they do, anyway.

So is this going to be a meh job? Lets find out...

NOTD: Bite Me by China Glaze...

Today I'm showcasing the third and final pink polish shade that's available in the summer 2016 Lite Brites collection.

I've saved the one that I was most looking forward to trying until last, so let's find out if it was worth the wait...

NOTD: I'll Pink To That by China Glaze...

As my last NOTD entry shone the spotlight on one of the pink shades in China Glaze's summer 2016 Lite Brites collection, I thought that I'd go ahead and  also do reviews for the other two pinks as I own them too.

Today we'll be looking at the one that I feel is the most 'traditional' polish out of the three pink shades that are on offer. But is it traditional equals good, or traditional equals boring and dated?

NOTD: Lip Smackin' Good by China Glaze...

Sunny and warm days are here. It's still rainy near me, but hey, summerI thought that I'd celebrate the British summer by working through my neon polish collection and as I'm currently playing with the new-for-2016 Lite Brites polishes I bought a little while ago, I thought I'd work on a few new reviews, to help people who are not sure if they are worth picking up.

Today we're going to look at a polish shade I've had loads of formula trouble with from every major brand; white-based pink. A shade with a strong white base + super intense colour pigments = ???
