Plush <> lush: rviewing Eden Plush Pear | 23 edp, by Kayali.

Plush, Dreamy, Dewy

Eden Plush Pear | 23 Eau de Parfum captures the comforting nostalgia of life’s golden moments. It opens with the sweetness of ripe pear and bright mandarin, evoking carefree, sunlit days, while airy freesia and gardenia add a soft, luminous touch, and decadent vanilla caviar wraps you in its dreamy scent bubble...

I've fallen way behind wh:en it comes to Kayali releases overall, however when it comes to their Eden collection I'm always ready to go.

Spoiler alert: it was difficult to choose between the two new editions in the Eden line - Plush Pear & Sweet Peach - or one of last year's releases, which I hadn't gotten around to buying, becaus they all smell amazing. After multiple testings I was actually leaning more towards Sweet Peach or Maui Dreams, but something took over me when I went into Sephora to buy a bottle of one of those, and I grabbed a bottle of Plush Pear instead.

Does the performance consistency live up to my expectations?

In The Nice Garden... [reviewing Kayali Fleur Majesty Rose Royale | 31 edp, by Kayali]

Feel like the diamond that you are with our warm floral masterpiece...

"My inspiration for KAYALI has always been to make people feel like royalty every time they wear our fragrances. With Fleur Majesty Rose Royale | 31, I wanted to create a warm floral scent that’s both strong and soft—a fragrance that makes you feel elegant, confident, and effortlessly unforgettable. To bring this scent story to life, I chose the rose as the hero note as it is often called the “Queen of Flowers” and presents such a romantic and timeless facet to the fragrance. We layered in the juicy green pear and sweet peach, along with delicate pink peony, violet wood, and purple musk, to create a sensual yet powerful scent that lingers beautifully everywhere you go!" - Mona Kattan

This enchanting gem is a harmonious fusion, blending juicy pear, sweet peach and sensual rose with pink peony, violet wood and purple musk. Warm, floral and endlessly romantic, it’s the perfect scent for every season.

Treat yourself today and add this crowning jewel to your Kayali collection.

I've fallen behind with the Kayali launches and when checking out the newer releases just before spring, this is the one that stood out to me the most - because of the listed key scent notes, as well as the pretty bottle shades. Some fragrance snobs dismiss the mass appealing fruity/floral family as being common and most often unoriginal, but I think that they are ultra wearable and very pleasant to other people - something you to consider if you spend alot of time in close contact with other people.

My choice & purchase where made a few months ago, so now it's time to check in and see if I still stand by my unital pick, or if I've rushed into a purchase again...

I want candy... [reviewing Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar | 42 edp, by Kayali]

  Sugary. Delightful. Tempting.

Live your sweetest fantasy with Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar | 42 Eau de Parfum! Sugary, delightful, and tempting, this fragrance is a lighter, youthful take on the brand’s cult-fave, Vanilla | 28.

Inspired by Mona’s love for candy and mouthwatering notes, Vanilla Candying so one of the most desired notes in fragrance with its delicious blend of sweet ingredients

I'm a sucker for vanilla & sugary fragrances, so I wanted to buy Vanilla Candy as soon as I heard the name and hearing that it'll be the first time in the announcement video. Plus this is the first release that the brand has used their own signature scent accord for [a blend of tonka, praline & musk], which was created using some of their favourite most‐used individual scent notes. Needless for me to have to say, but as soon as it was launched I was placing my order without bothering to test it beforehand.
I've only ever bought a couple of the tiny 10ml bottles of Kayali's original Vanilla perfume rather than splurging on a full sized one, because it doesn't wear very well on me without being layered with something richer

What makes a Lychee sparkle? [reviewing Eden Sparkling Lychee | 39 edp, by Kayali]

THE VIBE: Radiant, Cheerful, Confident.

Prepare to be tempted! Eden Sparkling Lychee| 39 Eau de Parfum is a radiant and cheerful fruity floral fragrance featuring a beautiful blend of luscious lychee, tart blackcurrant and sweet candied violet.

In the spirit of the Eden Collection, Sparkling Lychee | 39 opens with a cocktail of mouthwatering fruity notes that instantly brighten your mood! At the heart, a bouquet of flirty florals adds a layer of confidence to this cheerful juice. As this sparkling juice dries down, warm notes of sugared amber, delicious vanilla and sensual musk create a long-lasting and alluring scent trail.

I'm a bit behind on Kayali; I skipped out on the limited edition duo [Wedding Silk Santal | 36 & Wedding Velvet Santal | 35], and I've been repeatedly visiting Selfridges to investigate the four releases in the Oudgasm collection [CafĂ© Oud | 19, Vanilla Oud | 36, Rose Oud | 16 & Tobacco Oud | 04] and I do like them to varying degrees, but I have not decided on which (if any) I'm going to buy - genuine oud is an expensive ingredient in fragrance, so that collection costs more money, plus it is intense enough scent-wise to make me wary of triggering migraines...

Anyway, back to today's subject; I was excited to learn that it looks like Eden is going to be the name of a fragrance collection, rather than the name for a single fragrance; summer '22 saw the release of Eden Juicy Apple | 01, a fun & flirty fruity/floral that was inspired by 1990s body splashes that were popular when the Kayali founder was in high school. Being a 90s teen myself I really enjoy the feeling of carefree & happy nostalgia when I wear it, so I couldn't wait to try out Sparkling Lychee when it was released a short while ago, to see if it has the same vibe since it is focused around some of the Juicy Apple supporting scent notes. I tested it in the festive lead-up and immediately liked it, but wanted to wait and try it a few more times at a later date, however... guess what a couple of friends clubbed together to get me for Christmas?

Was it a one-hit wonder, or is this a contender for being one of my favourite Kayali releases?

Wear it or drink it? [reviewing Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33 Eau de Parfum Intense, by Kayali]

               The Vibe: Yummy. Happy. Irresistible.

Yum Pistachio Gelato | 33 is a delicious explosion of irresistable and edible notes including pistachio, voluptuous whipped cream, and fizzy cotton candy.

A truly yummy fragrance that charms with an unforgettably intense, gourmand scent trail that will have you smelling good enough to eat!

New Kayali release time... and it's from my favourite fragrance family - it's a gourmand!

I was very excited about this release; on paper it reminded me a bit of Utopia, boosted up with some elements introduced in Vanilla Royale. The longevity & aura of Utopia was an disappointment for me, even though I loved the scent of it, so getting a fresh take on the fragrance was something that I'd been looking forward to trying.

Has it won me over, or is it once again too quiet?

A naughty AND nice vanilla? [reviewing Vanilla Royale Sugared Patchouli | 64 edp, by Kayali]

“Calling all vanilla lovers!! Get ready for Vanilla | 28’s boujee big sister, something deeper, more intense, sexy, and RICH AF --- Vanilla Royale!"

"It’s no secret that I am a vanilla lover and OBSESSED with gourmand fragrances. I am addicted to the sweet and captivating qualities this note brings to a juice, and I’ve always wanted to create a more decadent and intense version.” – Mona Kattan

With an enhanced blend of exotic florals, rch spices, and dark, decadent notes, the eleventh fragrance in the Kayali collection, Vanilla Royale Sugared Patchouli | 64 unites contrasting textures: gourmand indulgence with rich sensuality for an intense new level of sophistication. As a new member of the Kayali vanilla family, this complex explosion of sweet vanilla mixed with sugared patchouli will be the crown jewel in every vanilla lovers collection.

Collaborating once again with senior perfumer Gabriela Chelariu from famed perfume house Firmenich and the nose behind Vanilla | 28, Mona Kattan has taken her love for gourmands one step further;
“the vanilla note is always a part of our Kayali DNA, but for this scent, I really wanted to show another side to this delicious ingredient, make it something incredibly over-the-top, and to make everyone feel like the royal version of themselves!”

"For the opening of Vanilla Royale Sugared Patchouli | 64, the elegant and warm vanilla orchid and creamy jasmine unite with golden rum for an intoxicating intensity. In the heart of the fragrance, vanilla infusion, vanilla surabsolute, and crème brulée create an overload of sweet, gourmand sensations while nuances of almond, tobacco, and caramel from the tonka bean bring an intense level of irresistibility. Powerful yet delicate, the spicy rose bouquet, along with smoky leather, creates an intriguing signature that is raw and velvety yet distinctively refined. Earthy with woody and camphorous facets, sugared patchouli glistens with sparkling sweetness while toasted tones of brown sugar further enhance the dark, decadent richness. The amber brings glowing intrigue to the exotic royal oud woven throughout the fragrance to enhance the dry down further. Finally, a tender trace of creamy musk creates a scent uniquely contrasted by soft sensuality and deep, luxurious richness."

🚨 New Kayali release 🚨

I still haven't gotten around to buying a full-sized version of their original Vanilla edp yet [loved my couple of 10ml bottles, but own too many vanilla fragrances to justify getting another until I've used a few up], however as this edition is being referred to as being limited edition, I jumped on it immediately online, without going to a Selfridges store to test it beforehand.

Is it I-must-have-it, lovely, nice, or meh?

Love me, or love me not? [reviewing LOVEFEST Burning Cherry | 48 edp, by Kayali]

Luscious, Woody & Mesmerizing.

Celebrate your love for life with this luscious, woody gourmand fragrance and awaken the free spirit within you!

The enticing contrast of succulent burning cherries and raspberries accompanied with sweet caramelized praline against the smoky, earthy notes of palo santo, guaiac wood, and patchouli makes this a truly mesmerizing and euphoric fragrance - harmoniously balancing this captivating scent for undeniable seduction...

Kayali has quickly become one of my favourite fragrance brands, with three of their releases being "I must keep on buying this, because I can't be without it" must-haves, and only one of their other releases being something that I consider "meh", rather than "lovely".

Shortly after getting Eden, I was thinking "this is lovely, but a fragrance built around cherries would be fantastic". Then about a week later, LOVEFEST was announced...

Has LOVEFEST been the winner that I'd been expecting?

Take a bite... [reviewing Eden Juicy Apple | 01 EDP, by Kayali]

"Bursting with attitude, discover the power of this modern, fruity-floral fragrance that will have you addicted at first spritz!"

Friendly warning; I watched Mona Kattan talk about Eden on YouTube, where I learnt that she wanted a fresh & fruity fragrance that is reminiscent of the fun & carefree fragrances that takes her back to her teenage years at a American high school in the 90s - so I think that you should know to go in expecting something that's pretty simple and light & fruity, In line with the body splashes and perfume oils that were extremely popular with teenagers at the time.

I'm saying this at the start because loads of people who have reviewed this fragrance seemed to have missed the inspiration & development story, and expected something else.

Is this THE perfect blend of vanilla & coconut??? [reviewing Utopia Vanilla Coco | 21 edp, by Kayali]

"A warm, luxurious, sensual, and truly irresistible fragrance"

Perfume house Kayali, founded by Huda Beauty launched Utopia Vanilla Coco| 21 during the covid lockdown. Mona Kattan (Huda's sister) wanted to make a sun-drenched, solar perfume that would transport you to your dream destination and "fill you with a euphoric sense of vacation", after the global lockdown prevented travel and everyone felt trapped.

That description instantly sold me on Utopia, when I read it when scrolling though Instagram during the covid lockdown, so I instantly ordered a bottle, without waiting until I could try it.

Did it transport me away to a magical land?

Does it shine like a diamond? [reviewing Sweet Diamond Pink Pepper | 25 edp, by Kayali]

"This scent is perfect for those who expect a little more from the unexpected"

I've honestly liked every Kayali fragrance so far, so this is an obvious brand for me to follow. Sweet Diamond uses rose, magnolia,  sandalwood, and vanilla, so I went in to this one with high expectations...

By invitation... [reviewing Invite Only Amber | 23 edp, by Kayali]

"A divinely sensual, decadent, and enticing fragrance with an addictive allure"

"Seduction in a bottle. Stimulate your senses with succulent top notes, which marry insatiably with the mid notes for alluring depth and dimension. This contrasts with the woody, sensual base to create the ultimate atmosphere of seduction and empowerment."

Cherry, honey and chocolate?! How could this not be amazing?!

I was so confident that I'd love this, that after not finding a tester bottle in my nearest Selfridges, I blindly ordered a bottle from Boots. This could go majorly wrong, since patchouli is also in Invite Only...

Yay or nay? [reviewing Musk | 12 edp, by Kayali [Huda Beauty]].

Emanating power and confidence, MUSK | 12 begins with magnificent notes of Lotus Flower. Laced with exquisite Musk, the scent shines a light on one of the world’s most mysterious ingredients. A voluptuous blend of Vanilla and creamy Sandalwood gives this distinguished fragrance an enchanting and tempered soul - Huda's site

Today I'll be taking a closer look at the edition in Kayali's layering collection that I'd been the least interested in trying.

Has it won me over, or should I have left it alone?

Hocus Pocus [reviewing Elixir | 11 edp, by Kayali [Huda Beauty]].

"An ultra-addictive scent, ELIXIR | 11 opens with sweet notes of Red Apple and Rose Petal Essence, before revealing a floral heart of Rose Centifolia and uplifting touches of Jasmine Sambac from India. Adding depth to the romantic fragrance, warm woody notes of Indonesian Patchouli and velvety Amber are enveloped by accents of Vanilla, leaving behind a long-lasting trail" - Huda's Blog

Patchouli is another one of those love-it-or-hate-it-with-no-inbetween scent notes for me, as I've had had migraines since childhood and they get more frequent the older I get.

I do like patchouli even though I struggle to wear it, so want to find a fragrance featuring it that I'm able to enjoy. Since I enjoy Kayali's other fragrances, it made sense to check out the brand's patchouli-laced offering...

... Everything I see is you... [reviewing Déjà vu White Flower | 57, by Kayali [Huda Beauty]]

Déjà vu White Flower | 57 is a seductive, yet warm and comforting scent that is steeped in nostalgia and reminiscent of that memory of falling in love yet also laying the foundations for new exciting memories to come; memories that you can revisit with every spritz.
Evoking the dreamy spirit of nostalgia, the warm and sultry scent is a fresh, bouquet of white florals. Déjà vu White Flower | 57 combines aromatic sandalwood and fruity notes of white nectarine and orange flower, creating a sensual scent that truly seduces the senses. The notes of jasmine, tuberose, patchouli and gardenia come together in a seductive and unique blend.
The number 57 indicates the 57 rounds of formulations it took to achieve the perfect balance of Seductive and Warm - Huda's blog

I don't usually like fragrances with gardenia in them, as gardenia turns sour on me more often than not, but Huda has been knocking (almost) everything I've tried from her brand out of the park, so I was looking forward to testing Kayali's latest perfume - the first one not envisioned as a layering fragrance - as soon as.it became available in the UK.

So after a month's worth of wear-testing, have we got another winner, or has the mega-brand had a rare miss-step?

Juicy K [reviewing Citrus | 08, by Kayali [Huda Beauty]].

Kayali = Arabic for "my imagination"

A contemporary twist of innovation, CITRUS | 08 subverts olfactory expectations. Sparkling citrus notes of Italian Bergamot and Pink Grapefruit mingle with Rhubarb, Blackcurrant and Pink Pepper. Immaculate floral chords of Rose Centifolia and Rose Damascena from Bulgaria lie at its heart. A lingering veil of Musk, Tonka and mystical Oakmoss grounds the hypnotic scent in nature - Huda's blog.

I really like every Huda Beauty product I have and I'm really into having a nice fragrance collection, so I went into the exploration of the Kayali perfume range with very high expectations and now it's time for me to deliver my opinions...
