In the store some of the shades in the Obsession's new Dream With A Vision palette seemed really close to most of the ones in Pastel Goth to my eyes, so I bought it so that I could compare it next to Pastel Goth and see just how close the shades in the palettes really are.
The Dream With A Vision palette doesn't have a peachy coral shade and the shade that looks grey in the pan is actually a gorgeous lavender, but aside from those two shades, lets see how we do with matching the other six shades from Pastel Goth up to ones in Dream With A Vision...
The white's are both white, so no surprises there. The dusty mauve shades are spot on dupes, as are the lilac shades - although the lilac shades have different finishes, so I can't really call them dupes. The KvD yellow shade is more vibrant in comparison to the other yellow, but the Obsession yellow is still fairly close to it - it's just a tad lighter in tone.
from there the likeness gets further away from each other, between the blues and the greens; the Obsession 'green' is a blue-leaning turquoise and the obsession blue is dustier in comparison to the KvD shade. Gorgeous shades, but not close to being a match...
The KvD shadows are more pigmented & creamier [since the palette was 3x the cost of the Obsession palette, it should feel and perform to a higher standard], however the Obsession shadow formulas are still nice - and I love the packaging. I've only played with the Dream With A Vision shadows so far and have had a mixed bag; the shimmers are great, but there's been a bit of powdery mess and patchiness with some of the mattes, which tbf I expected from lighter shades. I'll be reviewing Dream With A Vision in the near-future after all-day wear testing and playing with different bases, so keep an eye open...
Makeup Obsession is a brand that is exclusive to Boots stores in the UK, and the Dream With A Vision palette is £10 [online and in-store]. The brand has just launched in Target in America, but I don't think that this particular palette is available yet (I've heard that the Belle Jorden one is, though).
The Revolution site also sells Makeup Obsession and they ship worldwide, so international customers can also buy the palette.
