Aloha From OPI is from spring 2015's Hawaii collection, and whilst I wanted to try it as soon as I first saw swatches for it, I was put of as other customer reviews for the formula haven't been the greatest. But after finding a bottle for £3.99 in TK Maxx I've decided to risk getting a dud, and finally give it a go.
I already know that it looks good, but how does the formula perform?
Aloha From OPI is a orange-based-red creme polish. The orange undertone is so strong in this shade that I could almost call this shade coral, but then I'll glance at my nails randomly and in that light the red overtone in the shade appears prominent.
The formula for this is nice; it is almost well-pigmented enough to be opaque on one coat, but I need to apply two coats to cover the odd bald spot. I didn't buy this polish when it was first released as loads of online reviews I'd read said that the formula is streaky, but the formula in my bottle (bought a few weeks ago) hasn't given me any problems.
I can't fault the formula and I do love the shade, but I do have a minor niggle; OPI have released several similar shades over the past few years, plus it isn't as though a similar shade is hard to find in any other mainstream brand, so why repeat the same thing yet again?
Aloha From OPI is available from all online stockists of the brand, and is still in many salons. TK Maxx sell randomly selected bottles for £3.99.
