YouTube vlog: Kat Von D shares her views on dupes and outright plagiarism [and gives us a sneak peek on upcoming releases]

Yesterday Kat Von D posted a Instagram pic showing Makeup Revolution's copy of her Shade & Light eyeshadow palette, and she was not pleased...
Kat was called out in the comments for being unprofessional, though the post is on her personal account and not her brand one, so now she has uploaded a video on her Youtube channel in order to clarify her thoughts and opinions on the issue.

NOTD: Gluteus Equine over Absence, both by Pretty Serious...

Pretty Serious is a cruelty free and vegan indie Australian brand that ships world-wide, and is very reasonably priced. I've only been buying from Pretty Serious for a little over a year, but they have already become my favourite brand. I have around 60 polishes by them now, and I can honestly say that every single one I've worn so far has had a great streak-free formula.

I'm sorry that my posts have been slow and not as in depth of late, but  life has been pretty crappy lately, and I just haven't felt like faking excitement for none-vital things. Anyway; today I want to ease back into my usual routine and get back to blogging, by shining the spotlight on two of my most-worn polishes from the brand.

Inheriting the cosmetic counter: Heiress Limited Edition edp by Paris Hilton...

“Heiress is such a great scent and one of my personal favorites. It’s playful and fun with a touch of  sophistication! This limited edition fragrance is the perfect go to scent with the super cute bottle that’s so festive with red crystals. Just looking at it will make you feel just like an heiress yourself!” - Paris HIlton
It seems like forever ago (October 2015) that I read that Parlux would be releasing a limited edition version of the Paris Hilton perfume Heiress in honor of the original's tenth anniversary; the original Heiress perfume had just been released one of the first times I went to NYC where I remember buying it in Macy's and getting a free travel bag (with wheels!), lotion & a ton of free samples, so I wanted to buy this new edition to remind me of my fun-filled holiday. As luck would have it my mother and sister were in NYC when Paris Hilton was and said to be releasing this limited edition version (late February/early March 2016), however they failed to find the perfume anywhere. And all throughout 2016 I'd ask everyone I knew who was traveling abroad if they would mind looking for this perfume in the Duty Free stores, but no-one ever found it.

Fast forward a bit; I was stuck at home and bored over the new year and absent-mindedly did yet another Google search for the Heiress limited edition release - and found it on The  Perfume Shop's UK site (link at the end of my review). And so it is now time to buy it and see just how the fragrance has held up over time... And let's also see if it has a slightly different composition, like the limited edition version of the original Paris Hilton perfume did.

Ooh La La: Paris edp by Victoria's Secret...

Paris is the new limited edition fragrance for Christmas, and was the official fragrance for the 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. It is officially described as being a festive, crisp and fresh fragrance inspired by Parisian gardens during winter and the glittery scene of the Eiffel Tower covered with snow.
My mother went to New York for a Christmas shopping trip in 2012 and bought me that year's festive fragrance release [Bombshell Diamonds] from Victoria's Secret, and I also have and really enjoy last year's Christmas fragrance release [Winter Bombshell] from them, so I couldn't wait to visit a Victoria's Secret store to try this year's offering. But do I think that it something worth rushing out for to put under your Christmas tree or snapping up in the upcoming January sales, or is it something I think of as too samey to their past festive fragrances?

Tis the season: Joan Collins Timeless Beauty Eyeshadow Quad in Moody Browns and Gold...

If you have been busy wrapping Christmas presents and have just realized you've missed someone, so now need a last-minute gift for a beauty junkie, or have you got a party invite over Christmas or New Year, and fancy wearing something new for that extra-special feeling?

... Don't panic; I've got your back on this, and want to show you a great quality eyeshadow quad that I've been loving lately. It has three very wearable matte shades and a metallic pop of colour for when you want to kick your look up a notch [a every-other-day shade for me recently].

I've picked this quad out of my cosmetic box for review because it has both practical every-day shades, and a metallic shade for that extra bit of glam. And the 50s style compact that houses the shades is very attractive, making it perfect for gifting. Plus there is still plenty of time for you to order it and have it arrive in time for Christmas - and you can pick express delivery, Amazon Prime, first class, or free second class delivery.
