The floral amber scent is officially described as being a “soft, clean” fragrance, that was inspired by the first light breaking through the horizon...
Similar to the original Cosmic, Cosmic 2.0 is housed in a sculptural bottle, designed to look like a piece of art from another world. However this flanker comes in a reflective, mirrored finish, developed to represent self-reflection and personal growth.

I don't follow Kylie Cosmetics or Kylie herself on any social media platforms, so this release [like the original] was a surprise for me that I only heard about the day before the launch. I do really enjoy the original Cosmic much more than I expected that I would [I actually do genuinely plan to buy a refill container for my almost empty bottle in the near-future], so obviously I was immediately interested by the new release and I was ready to pounce on it immediately from the Kylie Cosmetics site.
However my lingering issues from multiple Covid exposures include my sense of smell randomly coming & going, and the initial release of Cosmic 2.0 coincided with a 'off' period for me, so I've instead waited for Cosmic 2.0 to recieve a wider launch. I've been avoiding all reviews for Cosmic 2.0 in the meantime, whilst I was waiting for my nose to play ball, and I was excited to head to Boots as soon as my sense of smell returned.
Can Cosmic 2.0 stand tall next to the original Cosmic? A bit of a tall order, considering how highly I hold Cosmic...
I'm not that into lavender as a individual scent note, but in Cosmic 2.0 it is balanced out really well - a really good thing since it is the first note to stand out, and it wears thoughout the fragrance. The opening mixes the clean spritz of it with juicy pear & a sprinkling of pink pepper, so it has a clean & distinct, yet also gently sweet wash, with a touch of spiciness to it.When fragrances say that they contain vanilla orchid they mean that they are using a fantasy blend, as actual vanilla orchids aren't particuly fragrant - here I'm thinking of vanilla-wrapped jasmine, maybe peony since the background smells pretty similar to the original? The 'samey' backdrop is there to showcase the brighter lavender note and lingering trail of the pear & pink pepper blend give the floral heart more energy in comparison between the two Cosmic fragrances.
As the fragrance becomes closer to the skin it really begins to resemble the original Cosmic; creamy and warm like a hug, thanks to the amber & sandalwood blend. However it's not as intimate as the original Cosmic, as a sprinkling of vanilla-infused jasmine & more powdered down lavender remain clearly identifiable.
Officially listed scent notes: pear accord, pink pepper essence, vanilla orchid accord, lavender essence, amber accord & sandalwood essence.
The cost of Cosmic 2.0 has risen slightly more in comparison to the original Cosmic, however I don't mind as the longevity and projection are both slightly increased [not that I think that they are poor on the original]. cosmic 2.0 is something I'll apply in the morning and it'll wear for a complete working day and will be clearly detectable after 9/10 hours. It's not something overly rich, but there is around a foot for the point of the projection.
I've been very pleasantly surprised with Cosmic 2.0, as it is just as good as the original imo, thanks to the mix of similar qualities & enough individuality to set the fragrance apart from the original; Cosmic 2.0 is very well-blended, ultra wearable, ageless, seemingly more expensive in quality of juice, and well thought out bottle design. This is going to be A definite rebuy for me - in fact My only point of disappointment with CosmiC 2.0 is that there isn't a refillable option for it at the time of me beginning to outline this review.
Perhaps obviously, Cosmic 2.0 layers fantastically well with the original Cosmic for adding some more sweet freshness and boosting up the projection levels. I've also found that it is also excellent over Closer Intense, for giving the amber & woody base some more creaminess & umph. Now that the locallor weather has abruptly gone from winter dark to spring sun & warmth, I've been trying out some combinations for making the brighter notes in CosmiC 2.0 go further; God Is A Woman is good for boosting up the existing notes, while Sparkling Lychee adds bright fruits & gives the floral heart more of an impact.
You can buy Cosmic 2.0 from the Kylie Cosmetics UK site, plus it is now sold in stores like Boots, Superdrug and The Fragrance Store. In Boots & Superdrug you currently get a cosmetic bag free with purchase. I think it's meant to be with the 100ml, but I received one when I got a 50ml bottle.
10ml perfume pen (£20), 30ml bottle (£35), 50ml bottle (£44), and 100ml bottle (£57).
