Getting Lippie; Coffee Shimmer Lasting Finish lipstick, by Rimmel

Coffee Shimmer Lasting Finish lipstick is the first makeup item I have clear memories of picking out & buying for myself, way back in the early 1990s, and I still continue to buy and wear it today.

I'm honestly quite surprised that I've never shouted this lipstick out before, or have included this in one of my spotlighted looks in this blog, back when I focused more on makeup.

Beyond time for me to fix that...

Coffee Shimmer is a medium/cool brown satin formula, with a light & textureless frosty finish, which makes the shade look a tiny bit warmer. I guess the shade would come off as a brown based nude on people with different skintones, but on my fair skintone I'm hesitant to put it in the nude family.

I think that the Lasting Finish lipsticks are the standout product that Rimmel makes; they don't drag during application, the formula doesn't make my lips feel dry or enhance dry spots, it feels weightless, and the shade range is fantastic.

The formula has great pigmentation & once it's on your lips it won't smudge or bleed, and it hasn't had a noticeably drying effect on my lips. This will wear for around 4 hours before I'll need to refresh it - I have got lipsticks that wear for longer, but not any from easily accessible brands that cost around the same as many magazines do nowadays [£5.99].

I definitely recommend this shade to people who love the never ending 90s style vibe. You can also still buy my other teen favourite lipstick shades from Rimmel; Heather Shimmer and Amethyst Shimmer. I'll have to remember to shout them out soon, but Coffee Shimmer is my number one choice from then and nowadays too.
