I hadn't worn foundation for years because nothing looked good on my dry skin & large pores, all made worse due to ongoing health issues and my combination of medications.
However three of the foundations I tried in 2024 are fantastic and today I want to shout out the Korean-made Haus Labs one which has quickly become my top choice from my favourite three [Huda Beauty Easy Blur and Kylie Cosmetics Power Plush are my other two top picks].
Not only that, but you'll also be seeing the matching Triclone concealer in action on my 41 years old skin - my eye circles are very prominent on my fair skin, so you'll be getting an excellent look into what this concealer can do...
Finally, a clean foundation for makeup lovers. A Best of Beauty Award winner infused with 20+ skincare ingredients, this proprietary formula delivers ultra comfortable, longwear performance without compromising your skin. Its weightless, serum-like texture seamlessly blurs and smooths for a natural, luminous finish that wears all day. No slipping or caking.
Foundation never felt (or looked) so good.

This foundation is very smooth on my dry skin as it has a serum-like texture that is lightweight, cool & silky. It is a 70% skincare based formula that is recommended to be worn on bare skin, but I do sometimes wear a primer underneath because of my problematic pores - it has worn nicely with all of my primers whenever I use one.
[I'm not using a primer for any of the photos on this post, to give you a better sense of how it wears alone]
I mostly use a brush to apply the foundation [I use the Haus Labs one], because it is easier for application due to the thin viscosity of the foundation. However on the few occasions where I have used a sponge I haven't had any issues either, so long as the sponge isn't too damp.
I've seen loving the results; Triclone has fantastic all day wear in a medium/buildable coverage, without needing any touch ups, and a major plus for me is the fact that it is non-caking or irritating to my very dry skin. I've fallen asleep in this when I've suddenly fallen ill, so I can confirm that does wear well for well over 12 hours without irritating the skin or clogging up pores, and it doesn't transfer onto light fabrics.
A clean, lightweight, long-wearing, non-comedogenic concealer that does more than cover—it visibly blurs, brightens and conceals with medium, buildable coverage that de-puffs after 2 weeks of use. The matching concealer has a soft matte, medium/buildable coverage. With continuous use [visible after around 2 weeks] it de-puffs the undereye area significantly. I wear it over bare skin, BB/CC creams, skin tints & foundation around my eyes & to cover any blemishes on my face, and am happy with the results every way; my skin appears even, almost-all blemishes are covered, my under eye shadows are greatly reduced and when it's been set it hasn't moved or creased on me.
I use a brush for application around my eyes and anywhere else I want fuller coverage. It wears 12+ hours, there's been no caking or flaking on my skin.
It can be applied equally well with a damp sponge for a fresher look - I sometimes do this in place of foundation to even out my skintone, when I don't feel like a full face of makeup.
Whenever I find a concealer that doesn't emphasise my very dry skin, or cause any irritation or flaking, I know that it must be special. Most importantly; it doesn't settle into my fine lines, and there hasn't been any caking after applying setting powder in my undereye area. This certainly isn't the most affordable concealer on the market, but it's the one of the only concealers I currently have that isn't too harsh on my undereyes - most of my old favourites no longer work well with my skin.
The Haus Labs brand is exclusive to Sephora; both online and in-store.
The foundation is £42, and the concealer is £27.
