What makes this collection exciting is that it contains holographic, duochrome and foil finishes - for £2 each!!
Out Of Space Stories is Essence's current limited edition seven-piece nail polish collection, and is now in Wilco stores.
Do you really need anymore incentive to go out and track down this collection, after hearing that?!
Essence describe Space Glam as being a "holographic, iridescent and metallic nail polish, [that] comes in a purple colour", but I think it applies as more of a rose gold as the sheer pink/mauve formula has a strong goldish micro-glitter shimmer, that has a subtle green shift which dilutes the shade that you see in the bottle. The micro-glitters lie nice and flat on the nail, for a lovely foil effect finish. I find this polish rather reminiscent to Dream Dust by Nails inc [Dream Dust is a bit darker].
The slight iridescence to the base of the formula means that it leans towards the sheer side - after three coats I could still see a hint of nail line, which is subtle enough to not bother me - but if you are a stickler for VNL, then make sure that you are using a tinted base coat when wearing Space Glam. The coverage of the polish is smooth, even, non-streaky, and the coats all dry quickly. This polish wears pretty well [no chips for two days on me] for the type of finish of the formula; but for a UK £2 drugstore brand you aren't going to find many unique shades and/or finishes, so I highly recommend buying this, despite the longevity not being great compared to other, pricier, brands.
