No limits here... [reviewing LIMITLESS edp, by Jennifer Lopez]

Embrace your power, live without limits, and let the world see the unstoppable force that is you.

#IAMLIMITLESS

Live your most LIMITLESS life with the exceptional new fragrance by Jennifer Lopez.

LIMITLESS eau de parfum is a celebration of strength and sensuality, created using ingredients proven to promote self-esteem and confidence. It is a fearless and captivating signature scent that leaves an unforgettable, powerful trail. Notes of Red Apple, Jasmine and Palo Santo combine to create a luxurious and rich signature scent.

enjoy apple and jasmine in fragrances, but it was learning that LIMITLESS contains Palo Santo that encouraged me to check out Jennifer Lopez's latest perfume release because the other perfume I own which contains it [Kayali LOVEFEST] is a fragrance that I really enjoy - especially during the autumn and winter months as it is smoky on me, with a citrussy bite.

I don't think that Palo Santo is generally described as being smoky by most people, so I don't know if it's a body chemistry thing, or LOVEFEST used a subtle accord to boost their Palo Santo and I'm barking up the wrong tree here.

Lets find out...

The delightfully authentic apple note is the first individual note to stand out on me - fresh & sweet. The combination of lemon & black pepper toughens up the apple and tones down the sweetness. A touch of patchouli also comes through and gives everything a slightly more masculine edge.

The floral blend seems similar to One (which is pretty much the same as Promise imo); Jasmine and freesia leading the way, with orange blossom, honeysuckle and possibly magnolia in the background. I can't separate any ylang-ylang out of the creamy floral heart, as the lingering fruits, plus the fastly-developing woods and patchouli notes are stronger than the florals on me.

You get the classic feminine base of sandalwood, musk and vanilla - comforting & soft. But then you get the same kind of tough & masculine jolt that happens in the top; the patchouli makes the woody blend slightly dirty, and the remaining black pepper combines with it for a heated spicy kick to the fragrance as it becomes a skin-scent.

Officially listed scent notes: Black Pepper, Red Apple, Lemon, Ylang Ylang, Patchouli, Egyptian Jasmine, Palo Santo, Sandalwood, Musk, Vanilla and Velvet.

The longevity is very decent for a mass produced lower-medium priced edp; around 7/8 hours, with good projection. LIMITLESS was launched during the summer, but I think that it is definitely more suitable during the autumn and winter months,  as is woody, smoky and has a rich patchouli note.

I like the earlier perfumes of this line [Promise & One], but LIMITLESS is much more instantly appealing and is the only one that I'd describe as something that you definitely need to try ASAP, going by how often I've been reaching for it; so nicely balanced, and it just seems expensive.

LIMITLESS is available in 50ml bottles [£38] and 100ml [£48] bottles. Jennifer Lopez fragrances are sold in the likes of Superdrug, Boots, The Perfume Shop, The Fragrance Store, and on Amazon.
