Green with envy; the Emerald Obsessions eyeshadow palette, by Huda Beauty...

Huda Beauty makes beautiful 18-pan eyeshadow palettes, however the £56 price-tag isn't quite so attractive and turns people off the brand.

But we can cut the size AND the price of the brands bigger palettes in half, with their more affordable Obsessions palettes, to enable people to try out their formulas before deciding if a larger palette is something that they wish to invest in. So lets take a closer look at one of the newer additions to the line...

Head in the Cloud edp? [reviewing the new Ariana Grande fragrance]...

I'd been keeping an eye open for the UK release of Cloud, ever since it deputed in the US last August. It stared appearing in a store-by-store staggered scale over here in mid January, and it is now widely available in all stores/sites that sell Ariana Grande fragrances (eg Boots, Superdrug, The Perfume Store, The Fragrance Shop), so I thought that now would be a good time to review it, as it'll be easy to find an in-store tester to see if it agrees with you.

The Superdrug site was the first place I saw Cloud back in January &
I picked up a bottle then and began wearing it straight away, and now two months later I'm ready to share my final opinions. I was underwhelmed by all of the brand's other release, so will this be another generic offering or does the new bottle design signal a new fragrance approach?

Kat Von D: I am NOT a nazi. I am NOT anti-vaxx.

Just a quick post today; when Kat Von D made some posts about vaccinating her son on Instagram a few months ago, I read the entire statements and concluded that she wasn't a member of the anti-vaxx squad... however I also knew that people would only pay attention to part of what she said & run with it, and relish in bringing up the old Nazi hoax again, treating it as though it was real...

So now here we are, after months of being trolled, receiving
death threats and having her career on shaky groundI wanted to link to the video that she has just put on YouTube regarding those two topics, to remind people that 'influencers'/social media personalities and brand owners are real people, with real problems/concern and real feelings.

EOTD: The Icon eyeshadow palette, by Charlotte Tilbury...

This is my latest purchase, the palette I'm repeatedly wearing, and most recent review. However up to now, I'v e been boring and have just been wearing the shades in the trios they have been grouped into on the back of the palette (Date Eye is my favourite), but I wanted to write and post my review with the unimaginative looks anyway, since the eyeshadow palette is limited edition and Charlotte Tilbury limited edition stuff tends to sell out quickly.

So now I've started to play around with mixing the 'trios', and because the palette is still in stock, I want to show one of  my first mix n match looks...

New & LE: The Icon eyeshadow palette, by Charlotte Tilbury...

"Inspired by the spotlights, rock stars and dancers Charlotte partied with at the Ku Club in Ibiza, these multi-coloured, multi-use shades glide across the eyes, lips and cheeks like silk-satin, and the rich molten textures can be used wet or dry"

I wasn't going to bother getting this, but I'd had a crap week and over the weekend I went shopping and wanted to treat myself to some makeup (because I hardly have any), so the display over the brand counter in front of the entrance to Selfridges offering Charlotte's new release lured me into the store and once inside it took the SA all of two minutes to persuade me to part with my money...

Venus strikes back: the Venus II eyeshadow palette, by Lime Crime...

Lime Crime's popular Venus palette contains eight powder eyeshadows in warm shades inspired by Botticelli's classical painting crossed with 90s grunge, and Venus II takes that same theme & amps up the nu-grunge factor with by introducing some neutral & cooler shade selections to the Venus story...

I've had this palette for over a year now (I bought the Venus I & II palettes at the same time),so I've had plenty of time to use all of the shades and form an opinion on them. Is it a winner, or a missable entry in the Venus range?

EOTD: The Purple Palette, by Kylie Cosmetics...

When I felt like wearing an all-matte purple look, I took inspiration from my last post and went with shades from my other permanent Kylie Cosmetics palette I hadn't used for a little while...

I really enjoyed the purple matte shades in today's palette the other times I've worn them, it's just that with testing other products for review, this palette just got buried at the back of a drawer and neglected. So it's time to find out if the spark is still there...
