Gimme the candy... [reviewing Candied Fantasy edt, by Britney Spears]

Introducing the newest member to the Fantasy line-up! The new Candied Fantasy is a floral, gourmand fragrance made for the elegant yet unique ladies like Spears herself who enjoys the sweet moments in life.

The fragrance begins with Bubblegum Delight and sparkling fruit that add a sweet, refreshing blast, while Pink Hibiscus and Lily of the Valley bring a heady floral dimension to the composition and engulf the wearer in a graceful hug. The coziness of Pink Velvet Cupcake Accord provides a powerful, yet comforting and sensual base that guarantees extra longevity.

I didn't notice any spring or summer Fantasy releases, but heres a new flanker release in time for autumn. Here's hoping that the release schedule has slowed down a bit because more thought & care is being put into the line again, because the quality had been slipping in the past few Fantasy flankers.

I'm hoping that Candied Fantasy will be along the lines of what I wanted Vanilla Candy to be. Fingers crossed...

I do pick up on an accord that I'd describe as 'bubblegum' here on first application, but is softer in comparison with my other perfumes which contain noticeable bubblegum notes [Toy 2 Bubble Gum & Tease Sugar Fleur] - the vanilla-wrapped fruit and emerging lily prevent it from ever being something I'd call 'too much' or 'too young'. Soft powdered sugered comes to mind.

The lily is the starring note in the floral bouquet at the heart of Candied Fantasy - apart from the listed jasmine and occasional whisper of hibiscus, I don't feel confident in naming any other florals in here. The lingering bubblegum, vanilla & strawberry blend is more noticeable on me in comparison with the florals.

The cupcake, vanilla & creamy sandalwood base is classic Fantasy - the airy musk makes this more specifically like the mild base of Fantasy Sheer to me

Officially listed scent notes Bubble Gum, Strawberry, Orange, Jasmine Sambac, Lily of the Valley, Hibiscus, Cupcake, Musk and Sandalwood.

Yes, I do find Candied Fantasy similar to Kayali Vanilla Candy overall - in fact I'm even prepared to say that this edt wears better on me, since it doesn't become a skin-scent as quickly. The fragrance is still too soft for my body chemistry and will come and go in waves on me, so I don't want to give an average longevity.

Frustratingly I'm going to have to accept that my body chemistry doesn't work well with softer vanilla‐based fragrances and stop rushing to buy them without taking the time for more testing then I do now - I usually get too giddy and end up rushing into a purchase, but I'm going to have to be more sensible from now on.

Candied Fantasy is available as a 100ml for £42. You can only buy Candied from Boots at the time of me beginning to outline my review.

I'm sure that it will shortly also be available from retailers like Superdrug, Amazon, The Perfume Store, and The Fragrance Shop.
