A new Far Away perfume? Splendid news [reviewing Far Away Splendoria edp, by Avon]...

Journey to the unforgettable and experience a modern, brighter twist on Oud, the liquid gold of Middle Eastern perfumery, with our new fragrance Far Away Splendoria. You won't be able to resist!

Our new Far Away Splendoria is a one-of-a-kind scent. While traditional Oud is considered dark and masculine, we’ve created an exclusive White Oud accord for Far Away Splendoria, giving this rare Middle Eastern ingredient a fresh twist. Just as captivating as traditional Oud, but with a more feminine and sensual edge.

Inspired by the golden lands and hypnotic decadence of Arabian flowers, this fragrance was crafted by a talented trio of perfumers renowned for their Middle East expertise: Nelly Hachem-Ruiz, Nicolas Beaulieu and Julien Rasquinet.

Describing the scent, the perfumers said: “Far Away Splendoria is a perfume of pure luxury and mystery. It’s a mesmerising escape into the splendour of the Middle East landscapes. It is intriguing, sophisticated, and luxurious.”

This edition of Far Away is a gamble for me; I find oud in most perfumes very intense and it can be a migraine trigger, plus gardenia is hit or miss for me too. However the first time that Splendoria appeared in a brochure, it was hailed as   being "the world's first perfume" to use this new 'white oud' accord.

World's first something in beauty, available at a very affordable price = sold...

Expensive. That's my immediate impression of Splendoria; musk envoloped woods, with a very authentic gardenia note adding a spicy cream undertone to things. I can pick up on the plum too, but it is very mild on me and isn't always immediately noticeable.

The musky wood/white oud blend remains the main focus of Splendoria throughout it's weartime, but notes of coconut cream, vanilla, orange blossom, & jasmine, all gradually develop behind the woody blend and this quiet mix provides Splendoria a sneaky & playful nod to the classic Far Away blueprint.

As the floral blend in Splendoria gradually dries down, the woody notes gain a sense of smokyness. There's some patchouli too, for added dirty spiciness, that it is really moreish when it combines with the lingering creaminess, in a way that is hard to describe - a sweet & fluffy, heated dirt.

Official key scent notes; plum, gardenia, white oud accord and bourbon vanilla.

You all know what to expect when it comes to the longevity and aura of a Far Away edp by now; it is very impressive for such a affordable brand, coming in at an average of 9 - 12 hours, with an aura of around a foot. I found it to be a bit much in warmer weather, but now that we're moving into autumn & winter I'm loving it - I've been reaching for it every other day, any occasion.

Splendoria has rapidly moved into my personal top 3 of favourite Far Away fragrances - it is between this, Rebel, and Beyond

Royale and Rebel & Diva are also very impressive editions in the Far Away line, and narrowly missed out on being in my top 3. Glamour, Infinity, and Aurora are all well above average as well, and worth the price too.

Heck even the original Far Away isn't 'bad' - I personally find it too intense & it triggers my frequent migraines, but I am migraine-prone and I don't think that the actual fragrance is horrible or anything.
