It's a private show... [reviewing Eve Privé edp, by Avon]

Embrace your individuality and let it shine

You’re one-of-a-kind, so why shouldn’t your fragrance be unique too?

We’ve been doing beauty differently for 135 years, and are now excited to announce our first ever bespoke fragrance: NEW Avon Eve Privé.

You may have noticed a slight difference in how fragrances smell on your skin. Eve Privé takes the effects of the chemistry of your skin one step further, creating a completely unique scent – just for you.

As part of the customisable musk technology in Eve Privé, a delicate white musky molecule is used to support the ‘skin-feel’ accord that was exclusively designed to mix with the chemistry of your skin to enhance your natural scent and make you smell like you, only better.

Moreover, due to this molecular technology, your personal fragrance lingers for hours on end to create the feeling of a second skin.

Ohh; another new Eve Discovery perfume to learn about - just in time for the warmer weather (if we'll actually get any here). I think that the other Eve Discovery perfumes are pleasant and easy to wear over spring and summer, but I wouldn't call them top-tier quality.

Lets see how Avon does with their latest offering...

Eve Privè opens with the clean yet sweet scent of freshly sliced apple fragments. Sometimes I don't get apple, but what seems to me to be some kind of berry blend instead. The jasmine is the only floral note that I can clearly pick up on, although I think that I can just about decide a delicate rose-like note in the background.

The cedarwood develops around the same time as the jasmine and the floral/wood blend has a warmth to it - it's like when clothes come out of a dryer and the fibers are all warm, it's more of a feeling of mild heat than a distinguishable scent. Being such a soft, feminine & clean fragrance does make Eve Privè quite linear, but as it's so simple and uncluttered, it doesn’t smell artificial.

Eve Privè is deliberately close to the skin so just you and that special someone can enjoy it rather then the whole building, which makes it hard to pinpoint the exact longevity as this is such an intimate skin-scent; I do get the occasional hint of woody jasmine up to 8 hours after initial application, but I can't be any more precise.

Official key scent notes: red apple, jasmine petals, cedarwood, and white musk.

I'm very impressed by how well-made and expensive Eve Privè seems - the fresh-clean-warm composition of Eve Privè is perfect for the spring and summer seasons, as it is subtle & light. The inoffensiveness and easy wearabilty of it, make Eve Privè perfect for those who work very closely with others; I can't imagine anyone being offended by it - which also makes it a good gift option too.

P.S. I also love the sleek, simple bottle design, and the smooth feel of the weighty glass bottle - it fits the simple elegance of the fragrance very well. Sometimes less really is more.
