Two palettes, one look: The Magic palette and The Masquerade palette [Juvia's Place]...

Today's look is one I wore to a concert in June - I was saving it for after I wrote reviews for the palettes, but I just haven't yet used them enough for an in-depth review. Waste of time just sitting on the photos for who knows how long, so here we go...

I didn't start this look thinking "today I'm feeling the 80s", it was more of a "which colour should I go for? Sod it - all of them!" type of thing...

What happens when you don't have any ideas in mind???

My youngest brother passed away in January 2017, and on May 22nd 2017 I went out for the first time since then to see Ariana Grande in concert, as he'd really liked her My Everything and Dangerous Woman material...

I saw/heard/smelt terrible things & recieved minor physical injures in the Manchester Arena attack. I hadn't been feeling up to nights out before then and after 22/5 I wasn't in the mind-set to go out anywhere for a long time afterwards.

I bought these palettes when the Juvia's Place site had a flash sale, in anticipation of the concerts, shopping trip and festive nights out I'd forced myself to plan towards the end of the year, to make myself go out into the world again. These events never happened in the end; I was ill for over a month, then started to slip into a coma, nearly died, left hospital early against doctors advice [I really, really hate hospitals] and it took almost two months before I could even hold a makeup brush because I got the shakes so bad, for so long.

2017 was the worst year of my life.

So yeah, that's why I haven't yet used these two palettes enough for detailed reviews - all I can say is that everything I've used so far has applied nicely, been richly pigmented and has worn well. Both palettes contain neutrals and bolder colour pops.

I enjoy both so far; the Magic palette [left] has more easy-to-wear colourful shades in, but the bolder pops of colour in the Masquerade palette [right - I have the 'mini' version] admittedly call to me more. So far, so good. I recommend this brand and these palettes.
