I mainly focus on fragrances nowadays, but dip my toes into cosmetics, skincare, haircare, books and music.

A closer look at... The Amber Passion eyeshadow palette [P.S... Beauty at Primark].
I went to Primark for trainer socks... so naturally poked around in the beauty section. I rolled my eyes at the TooFaced-inspired chocolate-scented eyeshadows and the KKW-style contour sticks with sex-toy shaped applicator, but then came across the Amber Passion eyeshadow palette; it looks like the Huda Beauty Obsession palettes are going to be the new trend.
At only £3, I couldn't resist picking it up and since the beauty section at Primark changes a few times per month, I didn't want to waste time putting the word out on a bargain, showing swatches and sharing my first impressions...

A closer look at... The Lemonade Craze eyeshadow palette [by Maybelline].
"Bring on wearable neutrals with bold splashes of colour from Maybelline's Lemonade Craze. A fresh take on the classic palette, these pigmented shades offer endless possibilities. Softer hues to highlight, darker shades to amplify and define, and bright pops of citrus inspired colours to make your eyes pop!"
Like with the Smashbox + Vlada collection, the Lemonade Craze eyeshadow palette was something that I saw on Instagram (Trendmood) and thought looked fun, but assumed was a US only release as UK stores [I used to check displays in Boots & Superdrug almost every time I went in] have yet to receive it. However Amazon UK have just recieved it [different palette layout to the US edition, so it's not just overstock], so us UKers can now get our fiizz on...

XOXO from Revolution's Soph x eyeshadow palette...
Looking at Revolution's site and on the Superdrug site, the brand's best-selling eyeshadow palette [at the time] was the Soph x one, and it also has hundreds of 5-star customer reviews. Whenever something is hotly hyped and highly reviewed in the beauty community, I tend to get suspicious, especially when it is a collaboration with someone who already has a fanbase who will big them up, regardless of how the actual product performs. So me being me, instantly decided to order it, to find out if it really is as good as they all say it is...
Just to clarify; I'd never seen a Sophdoesnails tutorial until after I'd bought one of the palettes (to see what looks she did with it) - heck I'd never even heard of her, so having a particular name attached to it won't effect my overall opinion of it one way nor the other.

A closer look at... the Prismatic Petal highlighter, by Smashbox + Vlada.
Today I'm spotlighting the third and final item I've bought from the new Smashbox collaboration with one of their creative editors - Vlada Haggerty [Vladamua]. I had thought that this collection was going to be a US-only collection, so was excited to come across it in Boots.
The Boots store that I went to had actually put the products in the Petal Metal collection out a few days early, so I've had some extra time to wear and test everything that I bought [in 25 to 28 degree Celsius weather], and now I'm ready to share my verdict on the final item that I picked up...

A closer look at... The Cover Shot eyeshadow palette in Petal Metal, by Smashbox + Vlada.
The new Smashbox collaboration with one of their creative editors - Vlada Haggerty [Vladamua] - is out in Boots now. I had thought that this collection was going to be a US-only collection, so was excited to come across it in Boots and had to snap up a few pieces quick.

A closer look at... the Gilded Rose highlight from Smashbox and Vlada.
I visited the Boots store in Manchester's Trafford Centre a few days ago and got very excited - they had the new Smashbox collaboration with one of their creative editors - Vlada Haggerty [Vladamua], which I'd had thought was going to be a US-only collection!!
Naturally I have a few pieces to show you and I'm going to start with something that's fulfilled my disappointment with a recently reviewed item...

"Achieve the royal standard of glow with BECCA’s new and limited edition shade of Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter, embossed with a suitably opulent crown for every queen of cosmetics. In an irresistible shade of warm golden honey infused with pink pearl, this creamy powder luminiser is like 'crushed gemstones in a compact' – ultra-fine and virtually weightless, to blur imperfections and grant skin an enviable, lit-from-within glow. Use to highlight the high points of your face, or as a ‘setting’ powder – dusted lightly on top of foundation to fix things in place and grant your complexion a subtle, ‘your skin but better’ effect"
Sold. Take my money.
I'd been interested in finally trying the famous Jaclyn Hill created shade Champagne Pop since Jaclyn has a similar skintone to me, so that must be a shade that'll work well for me. However BECCA's above product description for their new limited edition highlight shade made me completely forget about it and add Royal Glow to my shopping cart instead...
